oof

The most invisible 34 minutes I can remember for an SU player. When he was out, I wondered why he was on the bench but when he was in, I didn't even know it. Now Lydon on the other hand ONLY had 35 minutes. OMG, I thought it was more. AND you knew he was in there for almost every second of them too.
White was ok. A few bad misses, but honestly I thought he was OK on defense, he had some hustle plays. We need way more from him, but wasn't as awful as others

maybe but I knew that forced 3 early in the clock meant curtains for him

Yeah, I figured he was done for the half at that point as well. lol

Still, I just never saw anything from Gillon/White that would warrant zero minutes in the second half. I think I just want the savior - and the kid that didn't play is the easiest lifeline!! Still, I wanted some Battle!

This is the type of game Michigan State loses early in the season and they're better off for it in the long run. Wisconsin will probably be the same.

good point on the transition buckets whenever we got a rebound they had a body all over us preventing the outlet pass.

So what have we learned after the first real game?

- Chuckwu might as well be Chino
- There's a reason Gillon was playing at a Mtn West school
- We still have the not-plugged-in Robey issue
- our star freshman (Battle) is not ready for primetime (but will probably leave early anyway - you know, upside and all that)
- Our best PG can't shoot FTs
- White is, indeed, a one-trick pony and if that one trick isn't working he's mostly useless
- There appears to be no measurable improvement of the team's half-court offense

Proclamations after cupcake blowouts are funny
I thought this was one of SWC75's downside posts.

Things can change in a hurry, and I'm expecting to see a different team and a big bounce back game against Wisconsin. At least the reports of the demise of Tyler Lydon's 3-point shot were greatly exaggerated.
