There are plenty of threads for those to forecast doom and gloom already.
1. We are going to a bowl.
2. We are 6-3
3. We are 6-1 with a healthy GS
4. The fact that GS warmed up Saturday makes me think he will be back this week or for Wake.
5. I believe there is some good football left here. Have to turn the attitude . We have some quality leaders on this team and they will step up.

We always seem to play Wake well and our D IMO matches up well with them. I am liking our chances more and more. BC stinks so we should beat them.

FSU is so hard to get a read on. Are they the team that has looked awesome the last 2 weeks? Or are they the team that blew a 17-3 halftime lead to NC State (17-10 when Leary left the game)? Or are they the team that was down 34-14 at home vs Clemson going into the 4th? Or are they the team that was down 28-7 halfway through the 3rd Q at home vs Wake? Or are they the team that was trailing 4th Q at Louisville? Or are they the team that lead LSU 24-10 in the 4th Q?

1. This season has had some incredible highs that very few of us would have thought possible. We entered November ranked in the CFP.

2. Not sure what bowl we will get, but still a solid chance of a warm weather one.

3. Bowling means an entire extra month of practices to build towards next season.

4. When healthy, this is a NY6 team.

5. No more divisions next season, which means even with our geographical recruiting adversity, the possibilities of six win minimum seasons will grow exponentially.

6. Lord willing, we will have several players drafted this off season.

7. We have the best group on the internet. Seriously, this board is better than what any of the big boys in the SEC has. Definitely best in the ACC and better than what Clemson has (lol).

8. This is personally my number one, but listed it last because it’s not applicable to everyone reading; we have joined the North Manley Crew this year and I just know in my heart that these will be lifelong friends going forward.

My number one thought lately is that we were 5-4 going to Louisville off a bye this week last year. We got thumped by a 4-5 team and the season crumbled resulting in no bowl game. Now we are upset at losing a Top 25 ranking and settling for a non Florida bowl. We lost to good teams on the road by a touchdown. Other facts:

-We still have BC and should get 7 wins
-7-5 is what Doug managed at best and that was Big East
-Our bowl game will come after a long break and we may get to be semi healthy by then
-We’ve been to 1 bowl game in 8 years
-If UConn gets a bowl we will have beaten 4 teams this year that are bowling
-We got bowl eligible by beating a team that now looks to be Top 15

we all would have signed up for 7 wins in a heartbeat prior to the season. The back end of the schedule was always going to be a steep climb and we aren't ready to climb to that height yet. Would have been interesting to see the Clemson and on stretch at the start of the season, and the softer part at the back.

Some are writing off CDRW way too early.

He's a 2nd year player, in his 2nd system, missed spring practice. We put him in a road game where we had zero running game, limited creativity, WRs who couldn't get separation against aggressive DBs, an OL/TE combo that struggled to protect him against a DC who threw every blitz at him. And then people say well he missed some open passes.

The game will slow down for him, the offense will become more familiar and those around him won't always have dud games as well.

I’m happy - hard not to crumble with our injuries this year. Proud of the team for gutting it out. And can never take away a super fun start to the year.

All I want is us to be competitive and we’ve been in every game for the most part. No Grob / Shafer years but guess that’s what I get for graduating in 07 and missing the good years…I just want to have fun and root for the team.

Wow this is some good content, some points I didn’t even realize. Also this may be perhaps the healthiest thread on the board right now. Some must read stuff.

I agree - I think he has better tools than GS. Needs some time.

I wouldn't have signed up for 7 Ws. I thought this team was good enough to get 7+ Ws, so why cap it at 7?

People have been so beaten down that they had little faith. This team with a bad OC was 3-3 with Shrader as a starter, before the end of season collapse. The 3 Ls were all by 3 points, one in OT. Shrader hadn't throw the ball or played QB in over a year. His arm strength and grasp of the game were certain to be better this year. The potential for a good season was there if people opened their eyes.

He has a ton of potential but some people were acting like he should have been the starter when Shrader was healthy. We need Shrader this year AND next year as CDRW IMO will not be ready before.

I was saying the same all off season but this years SOS was significantly more difficult, particularly how it looked preseason.

Yes, but this is the optimism thread.

The marriage of fans on this board and backup QBs lasts about as long as that of Dennis Rodman and Carmen Electra.

Any day you wake up above ground, or not in a little jar in a niche, is always a good day. ;)
Toss me in a Poland Springs bottle. In the end, we’re mostly just water anyways.
