we all would have signed up for 7 wins in a heartbeat prior to the season. The back end of the schedule was always going to be a steep climb and we aren't ready to climb to that height yet. Would have been interesting to see the Clemson and on stretch at the start of the season, and the softer part at the back.

It was a steep climb with a healthy team, then the injury bug hit us hard and that steep climb turned into a mountain. There’s been a lot of doom and gloom on here the last few weeks, but this is a very very good football team that has just been hammered by injuries.

There are plenty of threads for those to forecast doom and gloom already.
1. We are going to a bowl.
2. We are 6-3
3. We are 6-1 with a healthy GS
4. The fact that GS warmed up Saturday makes me think he will be back this week or for Wake.
5. I believe there is some good football left here. Have to turn the attitude . We have some quality leaders on this team and they will step up.

We have beat three teams that have a SOS that is higher than ours, Louisville, Purdue, and NC State. Our "total' defense and "scoring" defense are both 15th in the country.

Wake is falling apart worse than we are. Getting absolutely destroyed by that Louisville team and then losing to a mediocre and depleted NC State is much worse than what we've done the last few weeks.

8-4 is still a real possibility. 7-5 is a given. 9-3 isn't out of the question, and I'm not giving up hope, but FSU seems to have turned the corner.

We are going to a bowl for just the second time in 9 years. That alone is positive. A ton of kids are coming back next year and we will be in year 2 of a new offensive system. They will address our biggest needs via the portal and after this year going 7-5 or 8-4 plus the bowl we will be ready for our first back to back bowls since 2012-2013. Except the 2023 team will be much better than 2013 and possibly better than 2022

We are making a bowl.

We have a shot at 9 regular season wins, albeit a long one. But 8 wins + a bowl win could definitely happen.

If you had guaranteed me 7 regular season wins at the start of the season, I would have taken it.

Tony White is one of the best coordinators in the country.

Shrader has played well when healthy. I still have faith in CDRW down the line.

Gadsen is ridiculously awesome.

We got crushed by injuries. Crushed.

Remember, the 1998 team that had McNabb as as a senior won 9 regular season games. It is hard to do that.

This team was awesome to root for. Awesome. Play with pride. Love this team.

The long running line when the football season went down the tubes was “ Well it’s nearly basketball season” hence my dislike. Perhaps he meant it in a different vein. The long time members know exactly what I’m referring to.

And I think a lot of us are in a "wait and see" (to be kind) mode for the basketball season. 7-6 might look pretty good comparably.

But at least the soccer team is a legit College Cup threat.
