...not too shabby. That means in the 2 years that the Orange Bowl opponent is ND, the conference nets over $41,000,000 so for a 14 team conference that is about #3,000,000 per team...nice piece of change that could go to paying for 'Cuse practice facility...just saying.

About nine years from now (apparently).

Saw that, otherwise it nets about $2mil per team. You have been quiet lately Arb!

Not so quick there...the Orange Bowl can choose Notre Dame for up to 2 appearances in the 12 year cycle to compete in the OB. Note that four of those years the OB is a semi final game...so the OB has Notre Dame in 2 of 8 and the SEC and B1G in 3 each...so beginning in '14 it is possible for Notre Dame to be playing in the OB...of course that presumes Notre Dame isnt yet all in the ACC.

If ND was all in the ACC would that open the OB up to renegotiation?

I was just being snarky about (possibly) needing to have the practice facility fully paid for before breaking ground.

It's not the Tier 3 Gazillions that WVU is raking in but not too bad.

Of course, WVU also gets to share in the $40 million that the Big 12 will get every year from the Sugar Bowl. That's not necessarily $4 million per year because the Big 12 is not an equal revenue conference like the ACC. So let's say Texas and Oklanhoma take 20% each off the top. That leaves $24 million for the other 8 to share. Then, if the Big 12 grabs FSU, Clemson, VPI, Miami, NC State and BYU that's six more mouths to feed.

Maybe they could reopen the Big 12 contract if they expand to 16 teams? Of course, this might mean the GOR expires until a new contract can be negotiated and in the interim Texas, Oklahoma and the two little buddies might exit for the PAC 12.

All in all I'm content with what the Orange Bowl might produce. It's still enough to fund an indoor practice facility.
