between obviously not being tested.. tons of broken icons, multiple buttons that didnt work, stats that were completely wrong, it was just the usual crappy sidearm production
 
It’s completely based on your location. I “entered the stadium” while on the quad. Has nothing to do with your ticket.

I live about 5 minutes from Manley. I'll have to drive by during a soccer match and stick my phone out the window.

Interesting that it was piloted last year with students and worked quite well. I had no issues with the rewards applet on my iPhone. I’ll see what I can find out about the inconsistencies.
 
There was a major update to the Cuse Athletics app last week. If you have not downloaded the updated app, Rewards will not work. I believe the emails offering the Sign Up and STH bonuses detailed this.

This was a pet initiative of mine when I joined Cuse Council last year. SideArm had something on their radar but was looking for a partner to pilot with. When we launched Student Rewards last year we were the first school to introduce a Rewards App. Stanford was second. Based on the success of Students Rewards the department decided to launch for all fans.

Was surprised that some pretty premium gifts carry pretty reasonable "price tags." I had 2618 points after yesterday's game and my iPhone died around halftime so I missed some opportunities. Not to mention the "likes" feature where you earn 2 points for ever "like" one of your photos gets. So 50 games at that level gets me a trip on the team plane for two to an away basketball game??? there is a great range of gifts too. With my 2618 points I'm one third of the way to the 7500 I need for Club 44 passes or a T-shirt. Or halfway to the 4000 I need foe 2 sideline passes for the UNC game. Nice!

And this is really nice for locals as you earn points for attending ANY athletic event, not just the revenue sports. As Bees notes, it's not the scanning of tickets that earns points for you. Venues are geo-fenced and you need to have location services enabled on your device and for the app to get credit for attending.

I have three issues with the app:

1. I have 2618 points but can't see a detailed breakdown of how i earned them. Would like to be able to see a more detailed statement.
2. Most of the functionality is only visible if you are at the event. I posted a tailgate picture in one of the Challenges and would have liked to view all the submissions after the game but you must be at the event to see that section.
3. The rewards store shows only a thumbnail and brief description. Most of the descriptions are truncated and you can't simply click on the thumbnail and see more detail. For example there is a thumbnail of a plane on the runway titled "Basketball Away Trip for Two (2) with a description "Like to travel? Want to travel with the team? Take away one of...."

May also suggest an instructional video pre game to help introduce basic functionality to the less tech savvy of the fan base.

Overall, a solid, innovative effort and part of what I would grade a strong B+ effort at achieving Wildhack's goal of greatly enhancing the fan experience.

Yeah, wife had the same, but when I had her go to the App Store, search for Cuse Athletics and install it everything worked well.
 
Yea I'm still at 1500 pts since even though location services are on it didn't register me being at the game. Tried reinstalling app twice with no luck at the game

Trying to remember but I think there are two things you need to check. First location service needs to be set to on on your phone. This is a general setting. Go to Settings ->Personal -> Location and ensure it is set to "On- High Accuracy."
Then you need to ensure that you have granted permission for the app to track your location. Go to Settings -> Apps -> Cuse. Scroll down to permissions and open permissions. Location should be "On " (green dot or slider moved to the right).

Either of these parameters might keep the app from locating you within the venue.

checked both and they were both on, i also have email out to the email listed in the app, hes says its an android problem and they are looking to fix it

Hope they manually credit you with points for yesterday when it’s fixed. I will buy you a beer on the plane when we fly with the hoops team to the Finsl Four with all our rewards points!

yes, i believe id only get 1000( since only 1 of my tickets were actually used as far as i know since i sold to scalper, with all empty seats if my other tickets were scanned they could sit anywhere and my section was pretty empty,)maybe they put in some extra for trivia that i was unable to answer and hopeful it is figured out for this week
 
really though one of the worst things you can do with your phone is allow location tracking to take place. its one of the easiest things to let hackers in,

there are protections you can do against that
 
if you turn on locations in general then every app needs to be turned off manually everytime you install it or do an update. its not a good practice to allow location tracking. using ticket scanning would work better and really no reason to track you are at the game to do some of these things, since you cant do some of it withouth being there to see the questions etc.

hey its my job, we take it serious.. its a huge security risk if the wrong app uses it.
