If we were in their shoes as a fan I'd feel pretty crappy advancing like that. Let's say they win the title after that (obvious long shot but worth discussing). An asterisk-labeled title is all they can strive for now. Would really stink being in their shoes if you think about it. Sucks for both teams.

If Oregon wins the title they would have to beat teams who are a lot better than VCU, I don't think most people will see it as an asterisk title
Sometimes the first round game is the hardest. I actually have them getting to the sweet 16 but if they made a deep run people would probably put one next to their name.

Everyone is in the same situation - I'd miss not seeing the game as a fan, I'm sure the players would rather play as well, but everyone is aware of the situation and likely just moves on and goes after the next one.

I'd imagine whatever person(s) tested positive feels horrendous. That has to be an awful feeling... :(

One game prob wont matter but multiple games, there is an asterik. Like ga tech winning the acct. i dont really give them credit although i suppose their fan base (all 5 of them) dont care.

in this year everything is different and will have an asterik anyway and in the tourney ill take 6 more of them if it means a championship

No one would want to advance in that fashion. Plus they have two more days to sit around and wait.

Disagree. "*5 wins, 1 by forfeit" would be all over that. Come on let's be real.

In all seriousness do feel bad for VCU.
But I don't think Oregon kids would have been that eager to play this one against a shortened lineup out of fear of missing players in future games.

Honestly if we lost like VCU did it would sting more than anything I’ve ever felt. I would rather lose on a buzzer beater after controlling the entire game.

Id feel badly for them and appreciate the fact that the system worked and that we still had a chance to play.

A little bad until we beat two top teams in the FF and then wouldn't care about it any more.

I feel worse for the fans of VCU. Along with their players and coaches. What an awful way to end your season. They got to Indy, and spent the whole week there and had their game pulled from them at the last minute.

Brutal.

Don't feel bad for Oregon. IF Oregon advances to the final, they'll lose to the Cuse!

Those of us who remember the 1987 title game would disagree.

I’m glad that the NCAA didn’t follow the lead of the NFL with respect to how it handled positive COVID tests.
