OT - Adios and Kol Tuv to Robert Hegyes

He played Juan Luis Pedro Felipo de Huevos Epstein also known as Epstein on Welcome Back Kotter.

I was reading CNN and it said
Robert Hegyes - Kotter costar dies.


I watched the show a bunch and had no clue who he was.. I would never had said he was a costar. really Kaplan and Travolta were the stars, everyone else was background..

went around my office. 30+ people not one person knew who he was and everyone here would have been 15-30 at the time that show was on in its prime..

He definitely was a co-star. Travolta only evolved into a big star during the last half of the series. Originally they all had a pretty equal role: Epstein, Barbarino, Freddy "Boom Boom" Washington and of course Arnold Horshack.

Now if you would have said no one knew Woodman or Hotsie Totsie, I would believe you. But Epstein. He was definitely one of the stars.
