ASN (American Sports Network) is owned by Sinclair Broadcasting. They set up a poor man's Sports Network with G5 and FCS content. Some of the games were carried locally in Syracuse...featuring such must see games like Maine vs UConn. Some of the games were syndicated to RSNs like Altitude, NESN, FOX Regionals...

Matt Sarz wonders the long term consequences...
Matt's College Sports Media Blog: Implications of American Sports Network Potentially Ceasing Operations

The 24hr Network featuring a box of misfit toys always seemed destined to failure to me. Ultimately this is another nail in the coffin for the G5. I did like having a choice to channel surf through some of these games but none ever kept my interest for more than 15 mins.

Thankful for being in the ACC

They aired a lot of college hockey. So that sucks.

Never even knew this existed. I'm sure I have it on directv
It is mainly designed for OTA channels. Lots of sub-digitals grabbed its content along with some RSNs (for a cheap price)
