The NFL is seeing it slowly creep into its attendance.  Alot of factors opposing NFL attendance:
Cost 
Logistics: parking travel, crowds, its a 10 hr day to attend a pro game. 
HD tvs and seeing replays, commentary,  the game as a whole. 
Football in my opinion is one of the worst live sports. Yes, i get it, most of us here are diehards and i love live fb in the dome,  love cfb live. However,  the NFL is a tough sell. Sterile, large stadiums,  very corporate feel.  Most fans seeing their first NFL game live are shocked at how much of the game they miss compared to tv viewing.  Add in the players sitting for the anthem,  arrests, and constant PR hits the league takes and fans are getting fed up. Thank god for CFB. :)
