I'm a huge baseball guy, and here I am drinking a beer and enjoying Giants/Dodgers, but I just can't get into it. All I can think about is Saturday. I usually love Opening Day but I've been meh about it.

Anyone else having trouble focusing on ANYTHING else except this weekend?

It's really messing with me that March Madness and Opening Day for baseball are overlapping this year. Big Mets fan, but spent most of the afternoon on here with the game on in the background.

I enjoyed the Nats winning today. And now I'm back to focusing on Saturday. Bryce Harper and Stephen Strasburg are beasts.

They're going to be a nightmare for the NL. Great start for Harper today.

I am actually dealing with an embarrassing first-world problem. Close friends of mine, who live near Augusta, have tickets for the Masters, and I've long since planned to visit them next week (and have plane reservations from NYC to Augusta on Monday). Today I am dealing with alternate plans of how to get from Atlanta to Augusta on Tuesday and (because I play one game at a time) on Sunday. Aside from it being the hardest time of the year to get to Augusta, my friends will be out of town for a wedding until Sunday night. And I will need an entirely different set of clothes for Atlanta and Augusta, introducing a packing/luggage problem into the mix. I know, I know, it's an embarrassing first-world problem. But you asked whether I was focusing on anything other than basketball today.

In typical fashion they started off with a bang... not holding my breath though with Santana done. Hoping Cowgill is for reach and Byrd can return to pre PED form.

I'd settle for 82 wins and a battle for the second wild-card spot until labor day weekend.

Tough one for my Yanks today
I liked it only because it's true.

Bombers are in for a long year. This is the least excited I've been about the Yankees since... I don't know, when they had Alvaro Espinoza on the roster?

I feel the exact same way...the team is old, the y have injuries and not many Good moves over the winter mean not a good season this year for the Bronx Bombers.

Speaking of baseball, somehow I just learned today that they are doing interleague literally every week of the season.

That's such horse. I'm not a traditionalist in most senses of the word, but I always loved the fact that the AL and NL teams rarely play each other. Now, it's actually every week. Hell, the Reds and Angels opened the season against each other.

I hate this. Who thought it would be a good idea? Who actually likes that idea?

It also makes checking scores on the crawl a nightmare. First world problems

interleague all year is because of nl and al now having 15 teams each ...players association is mainly responsible as they felt it was unfair for nl to have 16 teams for 5 spots while al had 14 for 5 spots so now each has 15 teams for 5 spots

I'm probably the minority here but I just can't get into it until October. Spending 3 hours of my life to watch 1 game of a 162 game season just doesn't excite me.

I'm trying to manage my expectations, but after the spring the Sox' starting staff had and with John Farrell on board I really really like this team. With the infusion of youth with Jackie Bradley Jr., Will Middlebrooks, and Jose Iglesias I really like the direction of this team. We've basically gone in the opposite direction of the monster contracts and if half of these short-term deals work out this year, we'll be competitive all year. We also might have the best bullpen in baseball.

I do. And get rid of the *cking DH while you're at it.
