It looks like Terry Pegula and his wife will be the new owners of the Buffalo Bills pending approval of the NFK owners. For those not familiar with the Pegulas they also own the Buffalo Sabres. Sounds like they plan to keep the Bills in Buffalo and potentially move them into the city to revitalize the downtown if they can get a stadium built. Apparently the wife Kelly Pegula is the driving forced behind the purchase and will be the one running the team.

Great news for all Bills fans as this has been hanging over the franchise for the past decade or so and has in my opinion made it really hard for the team to succeed on the field.

One interesting data point... Pegula did not clean house when he bought the Sabers. He let the management stick around but they abused his trust and he might be cleaning house soon. Not sure if either he does that with the Bills or whether he learned his lesson and cleans house. I like the GM Whalen but I think everyone else could go. I really do suspect Saint Doug is coaching for his job.

This is the best possible outcome for the Bills guaranteeing that they stay in Buffalo. Having said that, he needs to learn from his mistakes with the Sabres and clean house. The Bills front office is a disgrace and nothing short of a complete new management team is going to get the Bills turned around. I would call Bill Polian on the speed dial and tell him he has carte blanche to build a Class A management team. Get it done.

I am not a Bills fan but Doug & Doug have only been there 1 full season. You want to clean house already? What fer? You just went on the road and beat a pretty good Chicago team. You guys might want to give it a chance first. Cleaning house is not always the best move...I give you the Millen/Mornhinweg combo. We went from .500 team to the worst team in the league ever......Yeah sure some of you are saying Lions always sucked, while they haven't been a powerhouse ever, they were fairly decent in the 90s. Even after Barry retired, Bobby Ross had the team winning games with James Stewart. Then the bottom fell out. Pretty similar to the Cuse situation in regards to P and Jake, we demanded they cleaned house, it led to the worst stretch in SU history.

fyi, her name's kim. i think kelly is their tennis playing daughter

my guess is that marrone's immediate future depends on brandon and not pegula. the rumor is that brandon is safe because he sells so many tickets. in the transition, they might defer to brandon while they get their feet wet

Great news for Bills fans and the city. The HarborPlace center is going to bring a lot of new business to the area and I'd bet Pegula might look to do something like Kraft did in Foxboro with the Patriot Place retail area around the stadium.

As far as Marrone goes, every NFL coach is coaching for their job. There isn't a lot of patience anywhere around the league.

I agree of he wins this year, they will have a real tough time justifying getting rid of him, even if he just misses the playoffs, they could fire him and the guy they hire could be worse. 9-7 will do it, IMO, and like you said who in the NFL isn't on a real short leash. Sure they could fire him, but it can happen anywhere at least to 60% of the coaches. If it doesn't work out for him his buddy O'Brien will hire him as the OC for the Texans in about a week as right now I think he is the OC

Keep Brandon for marketing and barring an awful season, give Whaley and Marrone a chance.

If Doug the Redeemer wins in Buffalo , they will have a difficult time keeping him , as every owner in the league will think he is a Saint.

Sabres guy?

Lol Sabres are a great franchise... Better hope they don't turn out like them

Your confusing "Sabres guy" with Larry Tanenbaum and the Maple Laffs. Consistently ranked as the worst sports franchise in North America.

Except bottoming out didn't let Cuse land the best QB prospect, best WR, & best DLman in their class as it did for the Lions. The Bills 6-10, Pick #11 routine for the last 14yrs hasn't worked out so well. That pick next year being more like #43 I don't think is going to endear them to the new boss, nor should it. Especially if QB is still the #1 need, which it almost certainly will be if they're sub .500 this year.

Anyway, great news. Sunday is going to be electric.

They win Sunday, Buffalo will be in 1st by themselves because I doubt the Jets beat the Packers. Big game.

And Friday night Baylor is playing at UB in the ESPN game.

To all the people on here with their "Toronto Bills" snobbery... SUCK IT.

GO BILLS
As a life long Bills fan, I was kind of hoping they would move to Toronto just so I could stop rooting for them and stop having my hopes of a successful season crushed year after year after year...;)

Hmm... maybe Doug will wind up wearing an different shade of Orange.

Having a brother and and many good friends that are die hard Bills fans all I can say is " Great News " Now figure out a way to win on the field Doug.
