In all seriousness though, I love this move. Incognito and Wood are boys so we shouldn't have any problems and we got a pro bowl caliber guard for cheap.

His final year in Miami before the suspension he was a poor player, one of the worst guards in the NFL before the suspension. Rex is more impressed with the "sizzle" rather the "steak". Richie is all sizzle. Richie will make headlines, will bring his "attitude", will be voted the dirtiest player in the league (again) and have that bad ass attitude that Rex loves. But when its time to play Richie has nothing left in the tank. His last year in Miami he played 8 games (really only 7 cause in the last game before the suspension he got hurt in the first half and never returned.) So in seven and a half games he gave up 6 sacks. 3 QB hits and 2 QB hurries. He was one of the worst guards in the entire NFL. Now he sat out a year...I'm guessing his skills didn't improve any.

This is a shot in the dark to try and get some help where the Bills desperately need it. Incognito has played at a high level before and he's going to be signed for cheap. If it doesn't work out he gets cut. No big deal.
This is a strategic move to get some cheap help. Fred Jackson won't let this guy be an a$$ and the Jills don't exist anymore so he won't be able to do any fondling at the golf course.

It doesn't hurt our cap situation at all. We signed a guy that immediately becomes our best guard unless Richardson steps up or Kouandijo makes a jump switching to guard. It's a low risk, high reward move.

If he is your best guard its gonna be a looooooooooooooooooong season.
The guy is poison to a locker-room and has been run off of multiple teams for things other than his play. And the last time he was on the field his play was terrible. It's a bad signing

Buffalos current guards are Urbik/Pears/Richardson. Urbik is solid depth but not a starter. Pears is going to be cut and Richardson was a meh rookie. Kouandijo may move to guard and is an unknown. Bringing in Incognito is probably part one of a 2 step process to fix the line for Romans offense. Step 2 is probably bringing in an Iupati/Boling/Franklin type player. Not to mention Wood and Incognito are very good friends. If step 2 is done, the interior of Buffalos line becomes nasty.

Excatly, people act as if they are going to pay the guy a lot, low risk with a mid level type reward, not a big deal whatsoever. Is what it is, I guess

Not a big deal till he blows up your locker-room because of his antics, racial slurs, and piss poor behavior. Wherever he goes there is drama and a circus. Still the only NFL player to draw 3 separate NFL fines from one game.

Um, it won't be "nasty" as you say cause Incognito can't play and is a bad football player at this stage in his career. The last 7 games he played he gave up 6 sacks...yep he's "nasty"

Put me in the camp of I would rather my Bills not go in this direction. I can't speak to his play as intelligently as others but Richie has consistently proven that he is an a** that won't grow up.

Stern, I get it, you don't like him but he's not as bad as you say he is and he is really close with Eric Wood (the guy playing next to him on every snap). The Bills aren't paying him much and I'd be willing to bet that he won't become a locker room problem...not with guys like Mario Williams, Kyle Williams and Fred Jackson in that locker room.

If he's an a** they can just cut him. We're basically paying the guy peanuts to compete for a guard position. With the guards on this team, he's clearly a favorite to hold down a starting spot and a chance to revive his career. The guy was playing a pro bowl level a few years ago, maybe he sucks now but maybe he doesn't. The guy has proven capable to play at a high level. One thing is for sure, I absolutely trust Whaley's judgment on moves like this.

I suppose. They better make sure he knows there are no second chances. I usually agree with you - but I felt dirty just reading his wikipedia page. I hope I'm wrong but I think I know how this is going to end.

Problem is by the time that happens and you are ready to cut him there is usually an NFL investigation or a police investigation which hijacks your season and has your locker-room in disarray and the season comes to a screeching halt. And he usually doesn't do these things alone and he will bring down a couple more members of your roster that you end up having to cut as well because of this clown.

Every team he has been on has said that. Well our locker-room is different, our guys won't let him get away with that here. Ha ha ha...sounds like a broken record from his days in St.Louis and Miami. What those teams didn't have strong power figures in their locker-rooms? LOL

Yes until you cut him. He needs to stay on his meds, and if he acts out he's gone. Again it's not going to be some drawn out ordeal, you just like the drama of all this.
