I doubt he’s ignorant. He could be like a lot of the old guard of college coaches across football / basketball who just doesn’t want to deal with the changing landscape that the portal and NIL have brought. He’s just lasted a couple of extra years.

Choosing to dig his heels in and do things his way instead of adopting the new ways of the portal doesn’t necessarily mean he’s ignorant to how the new ways work. His team was a CFP team just last year.

That stubbornness to adopt the portal could do him in though. That quote makes it sound like he’s begrudgingly starting to.

Perhaps, but I think Dabo just doesn't like that paying players and giving them rights hurt his competitive advantage.

I agree that it's all out of control, but Dabo isn't one of the voices of reason in my opinion.

I'm shocked they haven't fired him yet. Kinda glad though, beating them isn't the monumental challenge that it used to be.

We knock a coach for being stubborn - when we disagree with him.
I guess we're the final arbiters of where coaches fall on that scale.
