Rutgers hasn't been the same since.
They have been the same. They still suck.

Not really. They suck even worse. At that point, they were in the BE (the top conference at the time), albeit as a lower-tier spoiler. Now they're REALLY struggling at the MM level. They have been the same. They still suck.
Johnny's dunk was historic, not just b/c he was 6', but the way he did it in that game, at an inflection point of two programs. Rutgers hasn't been the same since.

I responded to this above. Either way, I don't care since I'm not a Rutgers fan. The dunk is fun to see.Rutgers never was anything
They had a nice run in the 70s and made a Final Four, led by Phil Sellers and some other good players. At that point they were a strong regional team in a top heavy college basketball world, much like SU.Rutgers never was anything
Many amazing parts to that clip (the dunk by our PG, the humiliation, the technical foul, etc..), including a no-call for the "charge" on Flynn the announcers were advocating. The defender slid 3-4 feet laterally just to get in front of him ... clearly a moving blocking foul (if a call was to be made). Have to give the officials credit for that one.

OrangeDW said:I was amazed that the coach went that nuts over THAT. Shows how much of a dork he is right there. Our guy got all the way to the rim, your help slid in late and fell down, and that's the call you're going to go nuts about not getting? Wow.
I have always been of the opinion that if the offensive player makes contact after he has jumped and is able to dunk, it should never be a charge. I know that's a bit crazy and it would be a different standard for everyone, but too bad. Don't get dunked on.Many amazing parts to that clip (the dunk by our PG, the humiliation, the technical foul, etc..), including a no-call for the "charge" on Flynn the announcers were advocating.
