OT: Don't Schedule Citadel

I wish that cut blocking would be completely removed from football. This kid merely spoke the truth about what cut blocking is. It's shady strategy and needs to be addressed. Georgia Tech has been doing it for years.

Ishmael said in an interview the staff has preaches cut blocking this week.

If so, I'm really worried about the SU OL. Doesn't change my position on the technique.

Still don't understand how its a legal block.
Agreed... who in the world thinks it's intelligent to allow guys that are 275+ lbs to dive at another persons legs... The mere force from impact will weaken the knees. Only way to protect themselves is to where braces. I say allow DL to wear these two things designed together (sorry, not great with paint like Lawrinson14 ):

FSU lost 3 DLs in that game...not sure on their statuses, but Jimbo was pretty steamed about it. Besides the cut blocking, Citadel actually played well against FSU...or at least as well as an outclassed opponent could. FSU definitely did look like the reigning National Champ and current #1. The Noles have got some work ahead of them prior to their 20 Sep game vs Clemson.

He was saying the WR's were learning some cut block techniques. Not that the OL was learning them. Big difference IMO.

Official Statement from Coach Houston on comments from OL Victor Hill ... "In no way does one player's words reflect the philosophy and mindset of our program, player and coaches. I am very disappointed in Victor [Hill]'s choice of words and the matter is being addressed appropriately. The Citadel football program strives to do things in a 1st Class manner. Disciplinary action will be handled accordingly"

Apology from Hill ... "I would like to sincerely apologize for my statements this morning. I am both embarrassed and ashamed of my comments. They reflect in no way, shape or form how I am taught or coached to perform. I am truly sorry for my immature comments that were made out of frustration. It was senseless on my part and I will accept the consequences for my actions and hope to grow from the experience moving forward. I apologize to Coach Jimbo Fisher, his players and the FSU fans for my negative remarks."

My comments: What I find interesting is that The Citadel coach and the player himself address and apologize for the post and negative words used, but did not address nor apologize for the way they blocked and FSU losing 3 DLs as result of their play. It may have been legal and no flags thrown, but kind of a cheap and dangerous way to play in my opinion.
