if the prices they charge at their cafes carry over, they might not be such a good idea.Just turn the whole place over to Wegmans
You can't tell me that Dinsour (or Limp Lizard) couldn't take a concession stand on each end of the dome and just keep it simple with Pulled Pork sandwiches only and fries. They don't need a whole menu, just sell a simple sandwich. Something basic. Get a place in there to sell hamburgers/cheesburgers. And keep the rest the same. Literally that would be a world of difference and I think very doable and heaven and earth wouldn't be needed to make that happen.

A lot of food places are run by charities. A friend of mine works at one that is run for a chearleading squad that compets all over the north east. She gets credit towards her daughter's bill by working there. It works out great for them. That might have something to do with higher prices.
New replay boards need to be much bigger to approach respectability -- but how much bigger can they realistically be? Why not just take out the endzone seating in the 300s for football and borrow the new videoboard that was installed at Alliance stadium? The athletic dept is not losing any ticket revenue in that location and fans would be treated to a BCS-quality video presentation. In between score updates, the video board can go into "live action mode" and create the appareance of fans in those seats - just borrow the PS3 EA crowd animations.
I believe the BK location had a grill. I saw the smoke and smelled grilled burgers many times waiting for friends outside of gate N, close to where the BK concession stand was. I agree they served burgers cold, but that was because they staged the food way too early, didn't care about quality or customer happiness. They deserve to get booted. No, but pretty extensive kitchen improvements would be needed to make that happen – grills and exhaust fans for those cheeseburgers, for starters. Until then, any burgers are going to suffer for the same reason Burger King’s product did: cheap burgers cooked elsewhere and reheated (or, like my Whopper, not) at the point of sale taste pretty bad.
With finite resources, SU’s going to throw any available million dollars into lockerroom or scoreboard upgrades before making investments in kitchen renovations. I’m sure that they’ve considered just about anything in the food realm that we can think of (some of it – those “Red Osier” sandwiches, mac and cheese, and pulled pork – already exists).
They won't be that much bigger but they're hopefully much higher quality, and they have space for digital ads which will help bring in revenue.

I agree there is a need to extend the food and drink available in the Dome, to bring customer service up to the levels competing venues have had for many years. To be fair, they have made some improvements. You can get pulled pork sandwiches, chicken parm sandwiches, sausage sandwiches with peppers and onions, in addition to Dome Dogs and nachos and cheese. The Italian Bistro near section 126 has the chicken parm sandwiches (not great but certainly better than a cold hot dog in a cold wet bun), along with meatball subs and maybe even lasagna. There are a couple of wrap sandwiches available in some of the stands too. Turkey is one. They have soft ice cream too in one or two places.
But more choices are needed, more variety is needed, and it would be awesome if they could open up some concourses to give people easier access to get to the locations of the stands they interest them, and give people places to stand and eat/talk without being in the way of others.

This second link talks about Dome concession options. Don't know why they don't do the Brew and BBQ and Italian Bistro options for football. They just use normal concession stands...anyone know why football fans are shunned?
Anyway, I would like to see more specialty concession stands. They need to add some standard items like Philly Cheesesteaks, tacos, burritos, carnitas, Chinese food, a salad place, a sushi place, lobster and shrimp rolls/po boys, BBQ ribs, chicken and brisket (in addition to the pulled pork they have today; this would preferably be from Dino), crab cakes, box frites, more/better pizza options, frozen custard, etc. that everyone in the business has but the Dome. Then add some upstate flavor with things like chicken riggies, Utica greens, Plainville turkey drumsticks, beef on weck, etc. Local brews, other beer choices too (some people like ginger ale too).
Any major stadium or arena in the country has far more variety than the Dome does. From reading their links, I think the Dome thinks having a handful of relatively cheap choices gives the people what they want: cheap (bad) food that you don't have to wait for in line for a long time.
I think they are completely out of touch with their customers. People want good food, they want lots of choices and if necessary, they will be willing to walk halfway around the Dome, wait in line to get it and pay a higher price for it as well.
I sincerely hope someone at the Dome reads this thread or takes the time to poll the people that frequent the Dome. They need to get in touch with their customers. They need to catch up with modern arenas and give Dome fans some decent choices for food and drink.

Good call - there was definitely a blue Burger King haze in that alley near Gate N before most games. There must be some cooking facilities in that corner (I'd been told that grills and fryers were cost prohibitive, but they must have something over there).
I BEG TO DIFFER!!! That's all I have to say!!!!!
agreed BK has got to go we got a couple woppers there at the start of a football game and they were cold in the middle. I think they make them somewhere else and ship them in. I would hate to order from there after halftime. Being from Rochester, the Dome needs to take a look at the food stands at Red Wings Stadium. I know there is a differance between a dome and a open stadium, but at a redwings game you can get anything from a Red Osier steak sandwitch to mac'n cheese. As a matter of fact Red Osier is a kind of bbq place that is primarily in stadiums and has a couple moble units for festivels. The dome should have them move in.
