So last weekend I did a big BBQ on the 4th for friends and family (even made my grandma's bar-b-q sauce), my oldest son brought over a bunch of his basketball friends. So one of the kids happens to be a new UConn "croot", won't say his name but you'll be able to figure out as he's from DMV. These huge hoop players were fascinated by this weird game we were playing in the backyard. Needless to say, the filled their bellies and meandered out to the yard..

Seeing the competitive look in their eyes I invited them to play and they eagerly jumped in. After destroying them a few games, and them not being able to step away (kinda like a gambler who thinks they'll win the next hand), they proceeded to shoot the bag like a basketball shot and actually did a little better. It was fun and afterwards they kept talking about how addictive the little game was. Oh yeah, the "Croot" was a really good kid, but I kept banging him with ribs while deftly tossing my throw.

The game was cornhole!

I agreed to give them rematches next year.

They've never seen cornhole? Isn't that a staple in the B/W corridor? Everyone I know in NoVa has a set, whereas I might be the only person in Southern Vermont who has one.

Was said croot upset when you ran out of jalapeno mac and cheese?

Kids are probably more familiar with beer pong. Set up a table and they might shut you out.

Played a few games myself over the 4th. Great fun and definitely addictive.
