OT: Gale Sayers - Saints bounty

Haven't really heard any other former or current player with this reaction to the bounty scandal. Just found it interesting.

I grew up a Jim Brown fan but always had the utmost respect for Gale Sayers. If he didn't hurt his knee, GS may have been the greatest RB that ever played. More importantly, he ALWAYS carried himself with dignity and humility. We need more role models like just like him!

I don't know where people stand with the whole bounty thing. I've changed my opinion a couple of times and I'm still not sure I know what I think about it. But I respect somebody who steps out of the box and isn't just sticking up for the team/players because that's what you do.

A few years ago, my daughter-in-law was waiting tables part-time in Madison, WI where my son was in grad school and she was going to school part-time in Chicago. She struck up a conversation with a man and wife regarding the bread that they really liked. She got them a loaf to take home. The man said they lived nearby the apartment she rented in Chicago, gave her his card, and said that if she ever needed help when in Chicago to give him a call. When she got home, she took out the card and asked my son, "Did you ever hear of a football player named Gayle Sayers?"
