OT: got a new right knee today

24 hours later and still minimal pain--no opiods yet. Get a good, experienced surgeon.
Some surgeons inject a pain killer that keeps the pain down for about 3 days. Maybe yours did that. It certainly helps you get a jump on the rehab. I saw one patient leave the hospital with 135 degrees of bending and walking with a cane and almost no limp the day after surgery. Good luck with your rehab.

The pain blocker from surgery wore off a day later, Now on oxycodone. Not happy about it, but it zaps the pain. Probably going home tomorrow.

Mmmm, there are no parts to get back.

Yes there is, he showed me. They loop the vas, clip it and then cut across the loop leaving two unconnected ends.

It doesn't seem like it now, but it'll get better. This is one of those rehabs where you have to push through the pain for a bit now and you'll feel better every week.

probably won't let me play bball again, but life should get easier
Best of luck to you. Had major work done on one of mine and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. As others have said - push to and through the pain. You will not regret it. Of course don't push farther than the physical therapists tell you. I got seriously yelled at and then scared for pushing too far too soon. Anyway - good luck!!!

I heard my orthopedic doctor ream out a young guy just for that reason. He told him if he didn't want to follow his instructions to go get another doctor.

I wonder if he had an ACL repair. Those can feel farther along than they are and young guys can try to push them too soon.
