My Dad worked as an usher in the Dome in the 1980s. For the 1987 SU/Penn State game, his post was the press box. Coach Ben Schwartzwalder (who passed away in 1993) would watch games from inside the press box. Right before our opening offensive play, Coach Schwartzwalder walked up to my Dad, put his arm around him, and said "Holy s--t, that PSU defender is completely out of position. We are going to score on the opening play. I guarantee it."

10 seconds later... (1:45 mark)

Great story!

Iconic pass from my second favorite player after Ernie.

Having grown up watching SU football, I'll never forget the first time I passed Ben on the Quad my freshman year. He was wearing a Syracuse jacket and I was stunned that he was much smaller in real life than I expected.

It was awesome seeing number 44 on the field.
