OT - HUGE news

Some of you probably ignored the OT and think this is about the basketball team. Not. More huge than that.

Many people here know my son Lil Bees. He's gone to games since he was 3, does all the tailgates and many NCAA games so he's gotten to know many of you pretty well.

He got notified today he was accepted to SU. While he's been accepted to a few other schools already, SU was number one and he did Early Decision. Even better, he got accepted to a dual major program he wanted very badly. He'll be enrolled in Whitman (finance) and the iSchool (information technology and management). He'll get a degree from both and will also minor in Sports Management. Career goal is to work in the sports world on the business side. But at least this dual degree will give him a lot of flexibility.

Can't tell you how proud of him we are today. He's done all the right, and smart, things to get here.
smart, good job

Congrats man! That's awesome.

Also, if he has any questions about Whitman/professors or anything like that, I literally just graduated from Whitman in May and one of my majors was finance, so I could probably give him some advice on that kind of stuff if he has any questions.

Sounds like you got yourself a great kid.

Awesome, now with 3 degrees forthcoming when can I expect him to reimburse me for all the food costs from the last decade of tailgates? ;)

One of the smart things he did was take an SU course on campus. It was a whitman and ischool course. The whitman professor was Mitch Franklin. Great guy. We've run into him a couple times at the Dome and my son always talks him up. The ischool prof for the course was Sonoborne (sp?)

Ha. I already told Mark we'll have to double up on the food. He plans to bring his whole dorm down.

Mitch was my advisor my first year. Definitely a great guy. Made the first Whitman course (which was a little dry) very lively and entertaining.

Congrats! You must be very proud.

Just remember that when your son/daughter goes to college you suddenly become very dumb and don't know anything. "Gee Mom, I never realized how dumb Dad was." Then magically, when they graduate and start looking for a job you somehow become very wise. "Gee Mom, how did dad get so smart all of a sudden?"

Best
