OT-Jordan Travis. Sad.

Nothing is promised... this is why I can't get mad at kids portaling for big paydays.

How about kids portalling for negative paydays?

As in - leaving current team
(Let’s say, Cuse)

to take less $ from a team that should’ve gotten the death penalty decades ago.
(Let’s say, State Penn)

Can we get mad at that?
Asking for a friend.

I haven't heard dollar amount but certainly a possible outcome. Seems like whoever initially he thought was going to pay him wasn't as interested as they lead on.

Same with Tenny QB... doubt UCLA is paying him SEC money. Maybe he thought Nike money was coming through?

I'm not sure Pena isn't on the same boat as Sluka, getting promised something with no way of guaranteeing it was coming and making a bad decision as a result. Different cabin maybe - but the same boat. As a result, I'd encourage people to get more mad at the current screwed up system which is leading to bad decisions be players, rather than getting mad at the players themselves. Personally - I mostly feel bad for them.

But your friend can join me in being a little mad Pena won't be on Syracuse next year, because we are worse off as a result.

If this is accurate, I expect Fran to use this as a cautionary tale. At least with regard to portaling for money. If he catches 90 passes for 1,000 yards this season, kindly disregard this post.

the leading WR for PSU cuaght about 45 last year, the year before 53, then 51.

2021 was the last year they had a WR do damage

How much does the TE graduating change that offense is the question.

Has a Penn State WR been drafted since Franklin became HC? The last guy I remember is Allen Robinson from 2014. And guys like KeAndre Lambert-Smith left Penn State to - successfully - increase their chances at getting drafted.

If the ultimate goal was to increase his chances at getting drafted - I'm not sure he could have picked a worse school to transfer to than Penn State.

Ugh - Dotson went to Nazareth HS and was friends with a kid of one of the guys I work with. And I'm an Eagles fan. And I completely forgot about him.

Getting old sucks - your post is like getting punched in the face with the reality my memory isn't what it used to be.

They didn't have a single WR reception in the national semi-final game. That would even be surprising for 1983 Nebraska. And they still nearly won.

No. Not your life.
