OT: Josh Shaw (USC) out indefinitely after saving nephew

I wonder if he tried to jump into the pool from the balcony on a dare and came up short. He then tried to spin the story so he wouldn't get punished if the injury was career ending (possible loss of scholarship). Sad if this is the case.

Deadspin will find out the truth.

@HeatherBrit: Sources: Josh Shaw was involved in an incident involving domestic abuse & jumped off a 3rd story window while running from LAPD. #USC

Oh boy, this is going to get better before it gets worse.

Let the unlikes begin, I'll start :)

Big shift going from saving a drowning kid to domestic abuse, evading arrest, and lying to anyone that will listen. Ouch.

When I first saw this story I thought, wow maybe I won't have to hate USC this year, and now.....just another Trojan dbag.

Not so fast...

@ArashMarkazi
Sark: "Within the last few hours we've gotten a phone calls contradicting what Josh said occurred Saturday night and we're going to vet it."
Just saw that this morning. With the dawn of college football season upon us, it's fitting you led into your comment with a Lee Corsoism.

His original story was total BS. "... Sarkisian said that Shaw has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities."

UPDATE: Shaw has retained an attorney and reportedly issued this apology through his lawyer: "On Saturday August 23, 2014, I injured myself in a fall. I made up a story about this fall that was untrue. I was wrong not to tell the truth. I apologize to USC for this action on my part. My USC coaches, the USC Athletic Department, and especially (Steve) Sarkisian have all been supportive of me during my college career and for that, I am grateful."

If he decides to sit out and wants to come back, this is one case that should definitely get an extra year of eligibility.

His coach is saying everything he can to get fhead back on the field. The lack of integrity and values in big time college sports is appalling (hello PedSt!). I'm glad that the White House is putting FSt on hold.
What do you expect it's USC. Heck why do you think Pete Carroll bailed on USC when he did. Then he has the nerve to say earlier this year he would stuck around if he knew USC would have gotten into trouble...right.

Lots of blame to go around here. You'd think USC would have made sure the facts were straight before they pushed the story to national media outlets. Shaw is certainly at fault for lying, but the fact that he seems to be getting more backlash than Mixon at OU is unfortunate (of course this is subject to change once we find out why he sprained his ankles).

I saw that too. I guess when you tell a lie, you shouldn't tell one that you get famous for telling.

And now, a USC player quit the team. He posted on social media (a few platforms) that Sark was a racist.
