Has nothing to do with ability to recruit. Has everything to do with CAA pimping (ie: buying ) recruits for their client coach. Very ingenious scheme that the NCAA continues to ignore.Unreal. Cal can recruit.
Lol
Go Cuse!

Is there anything that they can do? As far as I know no contracts are being drawn up and no money is changing hands, but can the NCAA do anything if WWW simply let's it be known or makes a verbal promise that the player will get something once his NCAA career is over with? It's shady as a maple tree, but is there anything that they would even be able to nail him with?Very ingenious scheme that the NCAA continues to ignore.

Borzello predicted Randle to go to Kansas 5 minutes before he chose Kentucky. When it comes to recruiting he's just guessing.Thats a great question bro. Borzello was just on Danny Parkins saying Wiggins is most likely leaning FSU especially after Randle picking Kentucky today.
Yup. I forgot to mention that.Borzello predicted Randle to go to Kansas 5 minutes before he chose Kentucky. When it comes to recruiting he's just guessing.
How many ex UK players in the NBA are CAA clients?Really?
Go Cuse!
So does going to Duke, Indiana, UCLA, North Carolina, Kansas, etc. Which is why no one has ever been able to legitimately consistently recruit classes like UK is putting together.Really, though, i'm surprised that it's so suspicious that the best players want to go to a school that expects to be ranked Top 5, win championships, compete in practice against other top 10 players, be virtually assured of being drafted in the lottery, be virtually assured of being successful in the NBA, and do it all for a coach with a reasonable degree of charm. "Haters gonna hate," as the kids say. But, going to UK just makes a lot of sense to any highschooler worth a damn. Kinda like if you're a young animator and if the University of the Lower Ozarks had a sterling record for placing kids at Pixar... You'd be stupid not to want that.
We may find out more if he has over-recruited this cycle. Goodwin, Poythress and Cauley-Stein all said last night that they will be back. Do they want to go to the bench behind the 7-man (and counting?) incoming class? And, how about Harrow? Wiltjer? Can Cal shove some of these kids out the door without some kind of blowback? If it's true, some 'news' organization should offer a significant 'reward' for substantive evidence of malfeasance. Or else you're just waiting for someone to get screwed in the process and seek 'revenge' by outing it.

There are far too many options on the table for all the best recruits to pick one school the way Cal has been able to make them.
This has happened before, and every time it's happened it's later come out that something illegal has happened.
Is it possible? Anything is possible.
When it does happen legitimately, is it likely to be accomplished by a serial cheater? Some things are possible, but just really unlikely.

I think he's a trendsetter; not for the idea of getting the best players to join together, but for making it his system, down to a science, each and every year. In 20 years, everyone will be paying players (not that most don't already), but he will just be the one that mastered it before anyone else did and benefited greatly from it. Does anyone honestly care that players are getting benefits? I say good for those that do get paid, as they should be anyway. Most people don't like Cal and his methods because it gets great players that might have otherwise gone to other schools (Noel).
I'm going to go ahead and defend Cal. I know mostly everyone on here hates him and think he's destroying college basketball, but I think he's an entertaining, outgoing guy that is really personable (unlike certain coaches ...).

If you think he's destroying the integrity of NCAA basketball, that was gone long before Cal came on the scene.
I don't know how Cal can keep this up when kids that are this high are choosing agents before choosing a school. At some point he is going to have serious conflicts with people who are looking to make a lot of money off these kids.
Cal = unsavoryElite players want the best path to the NBA and Cal offers that. Don't see why everyone assumes he is doing it illegally. If these kids have "agents" and are getting illegal benefits it is most likely not coming from Cal but unsavory characters that are trying to benefit themselves first. SU has their own issues which sound much more imminent than anything happening in Lexington.
Cal will most definitely push Goodwin and Poythress out the door. I'm sure he prefers a lineup of The Harrison twins, James Young, Julius Randle, Wiltjer, and Cauley-Stein coming off the bench. Either Dakari Johnson or Marcus Lee will end up being Daniel Orton bench warming status.
Yup, but the check that WWW gave the family for the commitment probably has been cashed already. So he has no choice but honor the verbal lol.Johnson hasn't officially signed yet since he commited between signing periods right?![]()

Outside of Kentucky and Baylor the rest of the major programs pretty much play by the rules. Calipari and Drew are the only big time coaches giving these kids 6 figures to sign and play there. Its happening flagrantly and nothing is done about it.
