OT - Knicks reportedly to sign Tyson Chandler

Knicks probably signing Tyson Chandler today and also in talks with Baron Davis and Grant Hill. I could get behind this :) With Dwight most likely going to BK, Tyson Chandler is a must!

Unfortunately, it sounds like they might lose out on Grant Hill now according to Marc Berman of the Post:

"If the Knicks get Chandler via the amnesty route, they won’t have their mid-level available for Hill, who wanted to play for the Knicks."

But let's hope at least they get the Turiaf trade done today to wrap this thing up.

Yea, figured Hill was a pipe dream and many people think hes just using NYK for leverage. Im fine with Fields/Shumpert at the 2, but we have to get a pg. Im not really sold on a starting backcourt of Douglas and Fields even though we would have arguably the best frontcourt in the NBA. Baron Davis or Ramon Sessions would be nice.

Is Baron even an option though? I would imagine someone would bid on him if he gets amnestied.

I just looked up his numbers; he's still a solid player. Obviously if the Knicks could get him for cheap, that would be great.

I think he was quoted yesterday saying he would sign for less to play for the Knicks.

Yeah but that doesn't matter, I don't think. If he gets amnestied, it goes to the bidding process, and whoever bids the most (based on cap room) gets him. I guess he could try and play malcontent and say he would only play for the Knicks.
