I give the guy/program credit for a nice ploy of inviting everyone to his coach's camp.

As opposed to Syracuse holding all these secretive practices and keeping vanilla spring games vanilla - which I think is stupid - Harbaugh's move shows moxie and leadership. And few will really totally do it.

If Syracuse Football wants to gain some mojo, BRING IT in the Spring game. Throw flee flickers very other play. Have a fight break out.

All the talk and need to stay vanilla for a 3-9 team that is ugly to watch is so short sighted it is not even funny.

Good for Harbaugh.

Sorry, but you're comparing a satellite "guest coach" camp, something that the ACC forbids but the B1G does not, versus Spring practices. Apples to Oranges.

If you've been reading, ACC is actually spearheading eliminating satellite camps by all P5 members.

As I've said before on this board, I have a unique perspective of looking at both programs. And as I've said, my biggest frustration is that I look at SU and it's like a clown show. There's no understanding of tradition, and from the outside it looks like it's being run by people that are just plainly in over their heads.

In just a few months he's changed the entire dynamic at Michigan. It's amazing to me when I look at the vanilla and lack of creativity at SU. And it's particularly frustrating since SU needs to be creative. Syracuse doesn't have the resources that Michigan has. That's just the truth. So a good leader changes the dynamic. I don't see anything happening up there that shows any type of creativity.

And it's not just satellite camps, it's bringing in guys like Jameis Winston to provide some coaching, it's opening up the program for exposure by ESPN. Can SU do it like Michigan does? No, that's not an apples-to-apples ability. However, I don't SU doing anything that would even suggest creativity.

Like him or not, Harbaugh is killing it at UofM. Full contact spring games, open practices, etc. etc. etc.

This is not a new idea. A lot of these satellite camps have coaches from other colleges present. Unfortunately the ACC does not allow satellite camps that is why when Syracuse left the Big East the only camps they can run are on campus. When they did do camps off campus they had coaches from Albany and other area schools participate.

Unfortunately for him, none of that matters. The only thing that matter is beating OSU, ask Lloyd Carr.

He hasn't won a game for UofM yet, meanwhile Urban over at OSU... Now that's killing it. Sorry to bring up the bucks but...

Gosh and here I thought it was those bricks on the UofM IPF that were doing it all.

Your posts lack creativity, and are quite honestly getting old. I don't understand why you feel the need to come on a Syracuse board and talk about how amazing another team is and how bad SU messes everything up.
Does SU mess stuff up? Of course. However there is no need to ALWAYS compare the two programs, highlighting Michigan's strengths and our weaknesses.
Seriously, find something better to post about. You're predictable and annoying.

Meyer has connections to the South, regardless of whether or not he sets up satellite camps. Michigan on the other hand does not. He's just not going to have the same success as Urban bringing in recruits from the key states and this all reeks of desperation for attention.

"Don’t expect any of the 14 SEC football coaches to take up Jim Harbaugh on his invitation to speak at Michigan’s “Exposure U” camp. Harbaugh, in a very troll-ish move in response to the complaints about Big Ten satellite camps, invited any college coach to come be involved in his camp in Ann Arbor. The SEC has basically shut down any chance that its coaches will attend, according to ESPN’s Tom VanHaaren. "

In a thread that's literally about Michigan and Jim Harbaugh. I can completely understand how predictable that it would be that I'd post about Michigan... in a thread about Michigan. Particularly, the OP's post was a comparison between SU and Michigan. If what annoys you are posts like these, you need to get a grip.

Perhaps you should be directing your annoyance at the people actually starting threads about Michigan.

Unfortunately for him, none of that matters. The only thing that matter is beating OSU, ask Lloyd Carr.

We shall see on the last Saturday in November. (and Lloyd Carr went 6-7 and won a national title, not great but not exactly bad)

It has nothing to do with the thread. You do it in every thread I've ever seen you post in. Your post had almost nothing to do with the camps in question. Almost everything you said was, "Harbaugh is amazing, Michigan is amazing, Cuse is a clownshow". Same as all the other crap you post on here. It's annoying, and you are annoying by continually posting stuff like that. I've honestly never seen you post anything with value in regards to Syracuse. All you seem to do is bash Cuse and praise a team that has nothing to do with this forum.

The Harbaugh camp was an example not meant to be an execution of the more macro issue than doing that specifically. Hence the Spring game part.

That's exactly what Marrone did right after he was hired.

Will be interesting to see if he keeps it up. I don't know that he's had a job yet where his main goal is beating one specific rival, and that rival owns the sport at the moment. I think it will be pretty fascinating to follow.

He's killing it - but currently 0-2 vs us on the recruiting trail.

I know, I know - they didn't really want those guys ;).

And what this does is make it look like Harbaugh/Michigan are dicating the tempo.

The PR is the impressive part.

Exactly. Whatever you want to say about the guy, he has done a lot in a short time to get Michigan a bunch of positive PR. I would imagine there is a huge "buzz" in Ann Arbor, and frankly it wouldn't hurt SU to try and take advantage of the recruiting momentum to push the program to casual fans.

I know you can't use Washington to do that, but this is the time to get Shafer and staff on every single media opportunity possible. Get Mrs. Shafer on that local Bridge St show, get some new ticket deals/incentives and get people on Axe's show. The Crunch are about done, not many people are into the Chiefs and other than SU lacrosse, it's a very slow sports time here and it's ripe for SU football to take charge of the discussion.

Now would be a good time for a media blitz...

...BUT Good Lord, please do not let Missy Shafer go on Axe's show, Bridge Street or Lindsley's show (hard to even use the word "show")...keep her and any of our coaches and their families away from these douche nozzles. She is too classy a person.

When we get a real show with a real host, then let them go on.

I would agree with OrangeVA, your sh!te is getting old.

She should go on Bridge Street because you want her to take about the family approach around the program to appeal to that show's demographics.

You bring up Michigan every chance you get. Most of the time in threads having nothing to do with them. Never forgetting to remind us all of your "unique perspective"...No one gives dude.

Also noticed you like to chirp/rip Cooney in a similar way... in threads that have nothing to do with him.

Yea your unique perspective is really adding a whole lot here.

That's my point, guy won a freaking NC and because he lost to OSU a few times they sent him packing in favor of the Rich and Gerg show. Dumbazzes.

Harbaugh's an a-hole. Screw him. I hope OSU buries him in Buckeye leaves.
Truest statement in this whole thread is that Harbaugh is an a-hole. That will allow him to bully and maybe even inspire some kids. I honestly think it will wear thin with many recruits and their parents. And as someone else pointed out the only thing that really matters is beating Ohio St. He's lucky that Michigan has been so bad the past few years so he will have some time to grow the program. But not much, even a Michigan man will be expected to beat the Buckeyes sooner than later (emphasis on sooner).
