They could as easily change the rule to allow their coaches to go to satellite camps elsewhere - that would only require a rule change at the conference level. The fact that they would rather implement a change at the NCAA level tells the story, IMO. They see a concentration of talent in their footprint and don't want "talent-poor" regions to be able to come in and poach."The SEC’s current rule bans its coaches from going to different campuses to work as a guest coach for any camp that is more than 50 miles from their current institution."
Like the ACC the SEC is not allowed to do satellite camps so they don't like the Big Ten coming into their backyard holding these camps which they use as a recruiting tool. Basically the old if I can't do it I am going to make sure you can't either reason.
