Sadly, I agree. Penn State and its fans are a scourge that need to be wiped from this Earth.
I don't think Pitino ever works again. At least at the D-1 level of college basketball.

You might be right, but let's remember that Dave Bliss, formerly of Baylor, was just hired to work at a Las Vegas High School of all places. And he had recently resigned from NAIA school Southwestern Christian University.
My point is only that Pitino very well may get some offers. Truthfully, if I was running an NBA team, and was in the market for a new Head Coach, I'd consider hiring Pitino.
I said D-1 college. Pro or high school are possible if he wants to do that.

If you read the HoyaTalk board, you know that many of the posters feel that the Syracuse basketball program and Boeheim are crooked and generally rotten to the core.
Now I don't happen to think so. I thought the "street agent" flap was more naivete than anything. The Fab Melo affair was, however, sketchy.
But some of the fans of other programs seem to put things in the worst possible light.

There's nothing about Penn State and Franklin put in the worst possible light. The documented facts speak for themselves. They are scumbags.

All the tsk-tsking in this thread doesn't change the fact that in our microwaveable society, Penn State is winning.
They're in line to win a NC this season, years removed from the biggest scandal in college athletic history.
Call them scumbags, pedos, what have you...but they are being normalized on the field of play, by the B1G, ESPN, and the NCAA.
Sad to say, but in 5 years no one but CFB diehards will remember their shameful Sandusky situation, and more importantly...no one will really care. JMHO

Can someone give me the cliff notes on why we are supposed to hate Franklin??
I get hating ped st based on things in the past, but these coaches, players and students have no part of that.
Not does the current administration.
What am I missing??
I guess none of you go to the hoop board because the King of that program has put us on probation twice.

I don't think so. If they get to the Playoffs, it will be written about. Some new fact or thing will come to light by the media doing what it does.

He's a douche and was extremely slippery with "doing the right thing" at Vanderbilt. It wouldn't surprise me if he ended up in the Briles category of coaches.
For me, it's not so much him - but the fact that his hire showed that they (from the top down to the some of the fans) haven't learned a damn thing.

Whatever there was that needed to "come to light" already has, and all thats left is the amnesia that comes with the passage of time.
I don't like it either but I'm sorry, they've crossed that "shock and outrage" barrier and are steadily moving on.
Any references to what happened will simply be looked at as sour grapes by opposing fans who're jealous and need to "get over it".
Its not GONNA happen...it already is.
As a football fan I have to watch it, its the game of the weekend, but I'm going to need like a hazmat shower after the game.
