OT- NFL games

I'm probably alone in this but after watching a number of NFL games today, I'm shocked at how many stupid penalties,obvious mistakes, dropping easy catches even touchdowns, delay of game penalties, horrible passes, obvious late hits etc, I've been seeing. Even the refs seem to be dumbing down their game. Yikes these are all supposed to be pros. I was going to ask if I was nuts about this but decided that I really don't want to know.

You aren't alone. Sloppy play in the NFL is common place these days. They have reduced the number of mini-camps. Reduced the number of hours per day you can practice in training camp. Reduced the number of practices you can actually wear pads and hit in training camp and during the season. These teams have no time to prepare or get any "real" work in during the offseason or mid-week during the season anymore.

You combine that with the NFL constantly adding new rules and enforcing every silly rule more than ever then you are forcing the refs to throw more flags...the game at times as become tough to watch. There was a stretch in the SF-KC game yesterday where there were 4 plays 4 flags. One series of 4 plays took like 15 min of real time about 90 seconds of game time. It was awful
