His failure to act subsequent to his having become aware of abuse by his immediate subordinate is beyond revolting. I don't think anything can be worse than an adult sexually abusing a young person. Paterno's contention was that he notified school officials but his inaction within his own program allowed the abuse to continue and be perpetrated on other innocent kids. Regardless of his iconic status in the world of College Football he should be made to step down ASAP. This makes providing perks for athletes pale in comparison.
