What is your favorite weather season?

Winter
Spring
Summer
Fall

This time of the year has always been my favorite season since growing up in Syracuse. Daylight Savings means it gets dark at 8pm or so, First Summer like Temperatures dart in and out, winter's last bite (but only for a day or two), trees and flowers are just starting to bloom, little league starting as a kid...and you realize you have 6-7 months of outdoor weather ahead of you.

BTW, we tend to forget about Alaska...shout out to CuseTroop to stay warm as Fairbanks is dealing with a historic cold wave. The river breakup might come a little late this year.

Ofcourse I live in Florida now... I'm close to Saint Augustine so we actually get some seasons here...muted of course...but Spring is still my favorite.

The really hot weather kicks in about Memorial Day and lasts until early October.

If it was up to me it would be October all year long.
October is a mixed bag for me... especially when I lived up north.

Football season and leaves turning also meant first cold, dank days and the spectre of winter coming. But I get you... those perfect fall Saturdays with a Cuse win.

Where I live north of DC October is just heaven. We don't really start to get that dreary weather until well into November. But yes living in Syracuse as a kid I can remember snowfall sometimes in October.

Down here it's July/August that I find suffocating with the humidity. It's great if you're at the beach or in a pool, but just normal day-to-day living is gross that time of year.

My favorite season is pretty much the one that's just getting underway. They're all exciting on the front end.

Don't really care for that summer heat, though. And I will say that this has been a crazy sunny spring, which is disorienting before the trees have leafed out. A little shade is a good thing.

Late spring/early summer. Memorial Day to 4th of July. That’s my zone.

Love early fall too.

November-March shouldn’t exist, this year’s fluky nice March notwithstanding.

It's a tie for me between Spring and late Summer/Early Fall. I used to hate Fall since it's when school started, but it did a complete 180 for me when I started college

So true...in CNY I loved Christmas time...the problem was I was ready for Spring by early January. I never really skied, ice fished or snowmobiled as a kid so that didn't help.

My unofficial Upstate NY seasons:
  • Second week of December through third week of March = Winter
  • Third week of March through mid-May = Mud
  • Mid-May through Mid-June = Spring
  • Late June through Mid about the second to last week in August = Summer
  • Late Aug through Mid-Sept = Late Summer
  • Late-Sept through Halloween = Fall
  • November through first week December = early winter
I definitely think the Northeast's best season (not my favorite) is Fall. It's got something to do with the vibrant leaf change and the historical aspect associated with Halloween and Thanksgiving, which seem New England-y to me (Salem, Pilgrims, and what not).

My favorite time of year is about the last two weeks of August. It definitely goes back to being a kid and trying to cram as much summer recess as one could get in before school started after Labor Day. I seem to remember that's when all the "good stuff" happened. Parent's fatigued and more lax. As an adult, I like the hot days and cool evenings, that couples with that nostalgia.

These couple 80 degree days might get the Apple Blossoms out early...which can be really bad if their is a late freeze. I know the serious gardeners are already putting in the cool weather stuff about now.

For sure, that yo-yo spring weather can be brutal on all the crops.

Winter, and it's not even close. The skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and winter adventuring aside, it's quiet and still and life just seems to slow down to a reasonable pace, gatherings are smaller and more intimate, the alcohol has a purpose beyond inebriation, the food is richer and you get the dishes that take time to make, you have an excuse to use the fireplace and curl up next to it with a good book, you get to chop firewood (seriously, how cool is that?), the gear is cooler, you get to wear silk and wool at the same time and know supreme comfort...it's not even close.

The sensation of walking into a warm house after being out in the cold is nice.

I'm a summer person. That was even more the case when I lived in CNY. I want to be in shorts and a tank top and love the long days. I hate winter. Spring and fall are transitional seasons that don't have good weather frequently enough for me to label them my favorite. If you asked me what season has my perfect weather day however, it would likely be in the mid to late spring or early fall.

Underrated point here. Nothing like starting a hearty soup in a crock pot on a cold morning and letting it simmer all day, then sitting down in the evening to savor it with a chunk of boule bread. A meal that really sticks to your ribs.

Fall is by far the best season but the first 75 degree day of Spring when you're in college is as good of a day as there is

Nothing like pregaming with lecture hall busch lattes at 10:30 am

Would that be Busch latte draft?

Draft beer, in a can. What a concept.

It turns into a draft when you pour it into the dining hall to-go cup

Truly the best days of my life
