I used to say fall, but ever since buying a boat and getting more into mountain biking, I'm a summer guy. Long lazy warm days on the lake, that go until 9:30 or so in late June, early July. Mountain bike trails are free and clear on summer mornings, no leaves hiding the obstacles like the fall.

I still love the fall, but get sad when I have to take the boat out and put her to bed for the winter.

I live in FL as my handle implies, so my vote for winter as my favorite season may skew things a bit.

I lived in upstate for 39 years. There's about two weeks at the end of July/early August that are solid locks for nice weather. Ther rest of the year is about 70% or greater likelihood of being bordeline awful to full on nasty.

CNY can be spectacular, but vacationing in FL in February and going back to 2 more months of winter in Syracuse will definitely make you wonder why you still live there.

BTW, we tend to forget about Alaska...shout out to CuseTroop to stay warm as Fairbanks is dealing with a historic cold wave. The river breakup might come a little late this year.
Troop went from one end of the weather spectrum to the other - he's in Las Vegas now, I believe. :)

San Diego says hello
I wish that I could make enough money to live in S.D. To be there, I could tolerate the craziness that is California, in general.
Friend of ours commuted weekly to LA so his kids could be raised in SD

Living in East Syracuse, I'd say my favorite seasons in order are...

1) Summer
2) Summer
3) Summer
4) Summer

Hate winter. Will be moving to Florida in the next couple of years, and can't wait. Bring on the heat!!!

September and October. I am not a spring guy. Too much clean up and work around the house to do after winter

Anytime above 60 degrees is good with me. 70 is better. I can handle 50 degrees but I hate cold weather, which is one reason I no longer live in the north. That and I may or may not be barred from living there, but that is a different thread...

Seriously, I like spring, summer, fall, an most of the Texas winter. Each season affords me the opportunity to do some things I like. You can keep the snow and ice.

Why is Fall getting so much love?

Is it due to Football?

I mean I liked early Fall...warm days still, lots of sun, farmer's market and the leaves starting to turn. But then that switch gets flipped and 40s and 50s rain, clouds and getting dark at 6pm...late fall (post Halloween) dark at 5pm and even colder and cloudier.

Indian Summer days are great though and CNY gets them in November.

For me, that's part of it.

I just like the crisp chill in the air, having to put on a sweater to go outside, knowing the brutal heat is over.

Oh, and pumpkin beers. :)

When I think of some of you millennials...that guy is perfect... LoL

Ofcourse I'm Mr. Boomer

I hate August. I’m fine with the other 11. Not a fan of stifling humidity. January can ffkk off as well. Single digits can eat me. Make it 10 months I like.

this thread should be mandatory training material for new and old members. Everyone is posting intelligent, well-thought takes. While the viewpoints certainly vary there is no attacking of posters or name calling. The thread might never even have to be locked. I finished reading and had a warm feeling inside. Maybe syracusefan really is not made up of juvenile adults who want to relive their high school locker room days.

as for my contribution to the OP- I think everyone should be required to live in CNY for their first 30 years of life. Makes a man out of you but also helps you appreciate all the different shades and stages of life. I see my kids get excited playing in the snow and kick myself wondering when and how that spark died in me. Having lived here 40 plus years, I can definitely say the heart of winter is definitely starting later. December used to be rough. Now things don’t kick in until January. In a typical winter we just have to survive Jan-Feb. this is why the regular season matters more than March! they help us fight off depression and SAD.

Nothing beats Fall in Upstate NY.

Nothing.

Well, nothing except a cute redhead set against the backdrop of Fall in Upstate NY. A “cheat code”, as the kids say.
