quite the holiday weekend for us. one of our horses died on christmas morning, and then smokey went into distress on saturday morning. we've been fighting a nasal cancer with smokey for months. it had gotten to his eye & this weekend we lost the battle to save his eye. brought him home last night and he is in better spirits than he's been in months

yeah, he looks awful but when the stitches come out & the hair grows back it won't be so bad. and he is so much happier now. i'm glad we had the means to do this - he's still full of life it would have been terrible to have put him down.

My experience with animals that have handicaps, losing a leg, being blind, etc is that it's not a handicap. They adapt and do well. Some dogs with three legs you would never know. Best of luck to Smokey. May he live a long life.

We spent over 3k on our cat about a year ago, and he's been a beast ever since. He's like 13 now and plays more than he had in a decade. He's got a little girlfriend next door who kicks his butt daily, and he loves it.

My vote for most bump worthy thread.

We are still a week or so out, but our new little man is coming soon. He is a whippet. They lose whatever baby fat you see at 8-10 weeks. Some similarities to our Lucas, RIP - Lucas was an Italian Greyhound and we lost him to cancer a few years ago. Both breeds are escape artists, run circles around Forrest Gump, and jump over a jumping Jerami Grant. We are really pumped! These guys are full of energy but can chill at nap time, and very good with kids. Also, he's a tee, so you know he's going to drive the wife nuts and turn the house upside down.
