OT- Rick Pitino on Tonye Jekiri

Pitino is way out of line.

Seemed even more ill advised, considering it was on a play where his own star player threw the basketball at Jekiri's face. Complaining that Jekiri played afterwards because he thought he was concussed, makes it sound like he was disappointed that Louisville couldn't take advantage of an injury they caused. Bad form all the way around. It seems like karma that it was the Louisville team doctor that approved him to play.

Seems like Coach Pitino's time would be better spent figuring out what that facial hair thing is doing on his face than worrying about the other team's players.

Well it looks like he shaved - so he can spend his time thinking about why he felt it was a good idea in the first place.

Eh, Larringa has never seen it before in all his years coaching? I've even seen it happen multiple times. I'm not sure I've ever seen it where the player wasn't ACTUALLY going out of bounds though (and jumping). I think one of the times was in a Syracuse game too...that could be faulty memory though.

I don't know - seems like a lot of nothing. Who can tell...Harrell is jumping sort of awkwardly so I could him thinking he may land out of bounds.

I don't think the original action by Harrell is the crux of the story, just the background. It's more about RP's critical comments about the Miami's medical team in his post game press conference for allowing a concussed player to continue playing when it was actually the Louisville doctor who cleared him.

Come on - it's not like he boinked somebody in a diner or something.

The story just gets worse and worse for Pitino. Why he is even commenting on the oppositions handling of their student athletes injuries is a mystery. Its poor form and Im quite sure an unwritten rule amongst coaches to refrain from.

Then it turns out that it was ultimately a Louisville physician that cleared him. I would call him an ass hat but that would be doing an injustice to the asses and hats of the world.
