OT - Rupp Arena Renovations

I give you the proposed updates for Rupp Arena. Please don't get into a pi$$ing match over the Dome renovations. I do think this is an interesting expansion.

So how does that change the seating capacity? Are they increasing to 30k? Better question...how much of the money is WWW contributing?

Why does something that epic cost 310 mil in renovations but the pile of crap they drew up for Syracuse is like double the price.

First post...long time lurker on this board.

North Jersey born and bred, Cuse fan since the 87 team captured my young heart, rocked the Cuse starter jacket in the early nineties, Nets season ticket holder DC's sophomore year on Nets, 01 SU Alum.

Have some significant development credentials in NYC, so can speak a little to large scale developments and urban planning (will argue to the day I die that Syracuse can be a thriving city with the talent that flows through it).

1) There is no reason Cuse can't have a stadium as significant as the planned Rupp renovation. Costs are relative to region. Any renovation in line with what Kentucky is doing will require serious off season work, if not a season removed from there.

2) Kennedy Square is not the answer. On Campus Dome renovation would be first choice but a downtown arena as an option wouldn't be far behind. Student transport (city infrastructure) would be the ultimate factor for an appropriate off campus solution.

3) Obviously $, and ultimately who is financing the project, will carry the biggest weight in this decision. There is no way it ends up anything less then a joint venture with either the city or the state. This could be a nice blend of Private and Public institutions benefiting from a shared investment.
