OT - Say isn't so, Herb Sendek maybe fired from ASU

Didn't realize he was still coaching.

"If the Sun Devils move on Sendek, a number of names have already emerged as possible candidates, including Memphis coach Josh Pastner and UC Irvine's Russell Turner."

That would be hilarious. Replacing a mediocre coach with a terrible one.

Maybe he can go back to writing his Children's Books.

Any HC opening in the Pac 12 is dangerous. We don't need Hop applying for any more Pac 12 jobs.

Bring him to Syracuse

I'm pretty sure ol Herb has been the subject of some pretty spectacular syracusefan.com memes over the years.

Herb is actually part of JB's coaching tree.

Herb => Pitino => JB.

Things from this thread I find amazing:

1. Holy Sh-- he's been at Arizona St 9 yrs? Time flies.

2. He's only 51?

3. Ben Howland is coaching Miss St now?

Goodman is reporting the job will go Duke asst. Jeff Capel if he wants it. He should take it as the PAC-12 beyond Arizona and UCLA is not consistent year in and out. Washington, Stanford, Utah are good some years but that is a job you can win at.

This is a classic photo of him. Still remember Bees posting this -

That's it! I knew there was an awesome photo of him that popped up frequently on this board during the Julius Hodge days. Great job Deano!

Living in Tempe has to be an easy sell...

Howland going to Miss St just shows that the SEC $ makes coaches think they can build a program, and they might not be wrong about that.

That was one funny picture. He used to be our board whipping boy/coach.

Yes it is, I wonder why Asu hasn't won more.

Seems like Dawkins might be the next one out by the records of the other Pac12 casualties.

Phoenix is great six or so months a year, which happen to be the exact opposite of the best six or so months in CNY. In Pac-12 hierarchy, they will always be little brother to Zona, like WSU to UW, and USC to UCLA.

ASU is where head coaches go to die. Remember Bill Freider? Left Michigan right before the 1989 tourney to go to Tempe, then interim coach Fisher wins the title with the help of a BS foul call against Seton Hall in the final.
