OT: Shady McCoy headed to Buffalo?

They're not. Pegulas comes out of pocket for a lot but as far as cap ramifications it's a very good deal for Buffalo.

Question for any Dolphins fans.. Are you happy about the Suh deal. I think it's confirmed you're signing him and he's a great player but you guys are going to lose a few good players to FA now and when Tannehill gets his deal you're going to be in cap hell. As a Bills fan this opens the door for us to sign Clay who I think will beast in Romans offense so while I don't want to see Suh twice a year, I don't mind that you're signing him at the cost of getting worse at some other positions.

How does an owner pay a player and it's not part of a teams salary structure?

I hadn't seen that McCoy's cap hit came down by 1/2, which is big. That does make it better, but they better worry about the OL before Clay or other guys. Still wonder if that money wouldn't have been better spent getting OL and a 2nd tier RB like Forsett or Pierre Thomas.

Suh's deal doesn't look good for the Dolphins depth at all. At some point, you would think teams on the rise would avoid blowing up their cap to land one player.

I don't know how much you think Tannehill is getting but its a lot less than you probably thinking. Probably getting a Kapernick type deal that is team friendly. Fins actually aren't in cap hell. They can cut Wallace and save $10 mill (the guy quit in a game) and Wake is slowing down and this is probably his last year in Miami, save another $9 mill there. The Fins cap is actually in good shape. Aside from Suh and Albert they aren't paying anyone big bucks on that roster after reading up on this some today. Maybe Pouncey when he gets a new deal but thats it

That all makes sense in which case they should be fine. However those are some talented names you mentioned including the fact they probably can't resign Clay now. Does Suh alone make up for the payers they will lose/won't be able to sign? Then again, Buffalo will most likely be giving that same contract to Dareus next year. Only good thing about not having a QB is the cap room for stuff like this.

If Buffalo can round out FA with a guard like Boling or Iupati, Charles Clay and signing Hughes, this is a fantastic offseason IMO.

When did Clay become Jimmy Graham? Seriously guy has had 1 decent year in his life

He's not but he's good. If you can't see his value in Roman's offense then I don't know what to tell ya. Miami clearly values him if they transition tagged him.

Suh to Miami basically means Tannenhill's contract extension will wait 1 year.
Miami doesn't scare me as a Pats fan like Buffalo does. 17 million in cap space for a DT is for a team like Indy or Denver who are going all-in but for Miami they aren't a player away from winning the SB.

Buffalo doesn't have a QB and the Jets owner is too much of a clown show.
Miami/Buffalo will be battling for 9-10 wins and a wild card if Revis resigns with NE they are a 12-13 win team without Revis they are a 11-12 win team.

Bills just re-signed Jerry Hughes. They are using up alot of their cap space and have little money to spend after this. Clay to Buffalo will be tough for the Bills to pull off now. Not impossible but tough

Going to have to start cutting some peeps and if need be they have a few guys that could restructure. Also helps that Poppa Moneybags is making it rain on everyone with guaranteed money in signing bonuses.

Eagles resign Sanchez, give a gigantic contract to Byron Maxwell and just lost Maclin to KC. After the McCoy trade and all that, Chip better have some aces up his sleeves or the Philly faithful are coming after him with pitchforks.

Poppa Moneybags? Pegula isn't even one of the 19 billionaire owners in the NFL.

Giving big contracts doesn't win football games or Daniel Snyder would be a multiple Super Bowl winner. I like Buffalo's defense but their offense isn't good unless they get better at QB. Shady is a good back but isn't cheap. Buffalo should try to get Orton back with more money.

His Net Worth, according to Forbes is 3.8 billion soooo there's that.

Also, Pegula wasn't an owner of an NFL franchise when that article was published in March of 2013.

I'm not even calling him that because of his net, I'm calling him that because he is willing to pony up cash to circumvent the cap as much as it can be manipulated.

The Pegula's are considered the 4th richest owners in the NFL.

They still have around $13-15 mil in cap space without re-structuring any other deals. They still have some money to play with.

Bills linked to Iupati.
Bills linked to Bulaga.
Bills linked to Charles Clay.
Bills linked to Bilal Powell which means FJax could be cut (I get it but it would be hard to stomach)
Kaep is reportedly on the trading block.

Gonna be interesting.

Buffalo has a decent chunk of change left and can still cut guys like Urbik/Williams and Jackson among other as well as restructuring Mario or Kyle.

Love Fred Jackson but its hard to see how the Bills keep him on at this point. I think they would save 2.5 million + for the cap and with 3rbs already on the roster plus the draft its probably the end of the road.

That article is two years old

I would also feel sick to my stomach if we make the playoffs and FJax isnt on the roster but he slowed noticeably last year. McCoy/Brown looks to be the 1-2 punch with Dixon 3rd rb/special teams and with Bilal Powell and Buffalo showing mutual interest I have to think he's a cheap, younger replacement for Freddy and with they way we're spending we could really use that 2.5 mil.

I don't think Freddy makes the roster with or without Powell to be honest unless he takes a pay cut. I imagine that the targets are Iupati and Clay at this point (possibly Vernon Davis if he's the surprise guy leaving San Fran that's supposed to be announced today).

And they need to add a linebacker. Mason Foster would be a good one to pick up IMO.

They should find a place in the organization. Some sort of community relations role perhaps.

More from the "WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING IN PHILLY!?" news wire: the Eagles are trading Nick Foles to St. Louis for Sam Bradford.

I'd be shocked if Bradford doesn't end up with the Jets or his contact is bought out.
Eagles end up with Jets pick and this will end up with Mariota.

The key to that trade was the 2nd round pick, not Bradford.

This is all about Chip trying to get Mariota. He's obsessed with getting the right man to run his offense

"I'm bad decisions Chip Kelly. I had the 5th best offense in the league last year but traded them for players I found on a bus"

The Eagles are amassing a torn ACL All Star Team.
