I have a Sirius Radio in my car and for two years running I have called to cancelled service a few days before the annual renewal anniversary. Both years they have immediately offered to cut the rate by 40-50%.

It took about 10 minutes and I saved nearly $100.00 just now. Just FYI

I do the same. You can also let them cancel. They'll keep sending better and better offers till they get to about 1/2 the original price, then renew.

i paid them for a year subscription at a discounted rate, which began in June 2012. its now January 2014 and I have not paid them for another year and i'm still getting the service

Check your credit card bills..they auto renew if you do nothing.

if you are paying more than $5 a month you are paying more than the going rate..

And how do you get $5 a month? Personally I don't need to keep getting shuttle around to various call center folks to save another $2 a month...I figured about $10 a month was decent for Sirius Premier.

Maybe for Plus. I think $100/yr is fair for Premier.
I got $113 + tax for Premier...I figured I could do better (maybe $20) with more haggling but frankly I didn't care as I chopped nearly $80 off my bill.

Anyone listen to Ron and Fez?

Love Ron and Fez but annoyed they're no longer on the O&A channel. O&A is consistently great radio and really makes my morning commute complete.

I have paid $70 for 8 years for 2 cars. First of all I don't give them a credit card, I either have them bill it through the mail, or pay online on my account and make it a one time charge. If you tell them one time charge they can not auto bill you. There has been an ongoing forum in the Acura car site for about 12 years now on this promo and how to do it. The code is "winback" and they have not changed it for 12 years. I used to go through the whole spiel. The last 2 years I just call about a week after my renewal date, and tell them I wish to cancel it, but if they continue the $70 per car I will keep it. They just do the $70 and that is that. I get premium for that.

I bought a lightly used Acura 5 years ago. It is still going strong and now has 100k on it but I have never been billed for Sirius. It just keeps coming in free year after year. I wonder if there was ever a plan where it was paid for life of car or something like that.

i dont worry about calling every 6 months for the $25 plan, it doesnt take any longer than calling to renew to get the other cheap deals. call retention to start and skip getting transferred. its $5 or $6 a month depending on whether you want the NFL . I do the $5 a month in the spring and the $6 a month in the fall.

So do you threathen to quit service every 6 months?
