OT: Steph Curry

Best player in the NBA.

He's moved past Lebron.

Ludicrus says that's ludicrous. Excellent player, flavor du jour, may win MVP, but let's not get too carried away. Chris Paul and Curry's feet hit each other, CP3 went down. Take Curry off that team, take LeBron off the Cavs, which team is better? Do you think it's coincidental that the Cavs sucked big-time for 4 seasons while LeBron was off "at college" and now they're the Vegas favorite to win it all?

Curry's flashy, has that wow factor, is having an excellent year, fans and sportswriters are always looking for the "next great thing," he's it this year. A few years ago it was Rose, last year Durant.

No shortage of great pg's in The Association. This kid, 4 years younger than Curry, can break ankles, hit treys, finish with either hand, ball-handle with the best of 'em. And he's only getting better.

I think cavs would be half decent without lebron. What does the past 4 years have to do with that. They overhauled their roster completely

Steph is awesome, but he's not Lebron, and probably never will be.

When Lebron sits the Cavs are outscored by 5 points per 100 possessions. It'd not a perfect measurement but I doubt they'd be all that good without Lebron.

If you took Lebron off the Cavs they still have JR Smith, Shumpert, Love, Kyrie, Mozgov, Thompson etc... Still a pretty solid team, especially in the East. Take Curry off Golden State and they are nowhere close to the top spot in the West.

Lebron had his reign, it's Steph Curry's time. Dude does things I have to rewind 5x to fully comprehend what just happened.

love, kyrie, jr smith, shumpert, mozgov, perkins, thompson... sure thats not a championship team, but thats a playoff team.

that stat you site really doesnt impact much at all. this is the first year the team has been together and the roster has changed significantly from the start of the year until now.

He absolutely will never be LeBron. Steph might be the best SC highlight guy, but he will never even remotely come close to being able to playing Bron's level of defense or impact the full game on offense like Bron does.

Bron, KD (when healthy) and Ant Davis are all better than Steph, hands down. And LeBron is the best player in the world.

CP3 just dropped a 41 and 17 last night. He plays better D than Steph. He is a better player than Steph.

I wold put Steph in the same grouping as Russ and Harden. Below the above four players. That means he's vying for first or second team all NBA. That is quite an accomplishment. But he isn't in the same league as the very, very top of the list.

I think Steph is the best PG in the NBA now.

Steph is amazing, but the Warriors are like 11 games up on everyone else in the West, I think they might still be somewhere near the top spot if they lost Steph.

Steph is passing CP3 right before your eyes. Don't miss it.

Steph isn't passing CP3, period.

Besides the wide, wide gap in defensive capabilities, CP3 just dropped a 41 Pts, 5 Reb, 17 Ast (with 1 turnover) and 4 Stl game against the 4 seed in the west.

I'll take a HoF pass-first PG that can play elite defense versus your guy, who will never make an all defensive team.

I take it you missed the Clipper/Warrior game where Steph/CP3 played to a draw. Steph is nearly three years younger. You are using arguments that aren't exactly accurate anymore. Stephs turned himself into a good defender. His steal rate has improved immensely and higher than Pauls already. Actually all of Curry's numbers are higher than Paul's across the board except for assists and Steph plays less minutes. Anyway I agree to disagree.

If the Clips play the Warriors this year at most that series goes is Golden State in 6.

If I could pick any player to start my team with Curry is not 1st or 2nd pick. Lebron James first and Anthony Davis second.

Curry is a top 5 player, but I wouldn't put him first.

I think the postseason will decide this for a lot of people. If Golden State falters then my argument of Curry being the best doesn't hold much weight, especially if Lebron's Cavs win it all but if Golden State wins it the Championship, I think you'll see a pretty valid argument for Curry being the top dog in the NBA.

Lot of crazy in here... but this does give rise to a fun little exercise... We should organize a 30 team NBA redraft with a moderator and a designated expert panel to determine the ranks of teams post-draft...

I'd definitely select to pick for one of the teams, but we'd need a high quality moderator to keep it moving.

Knicks411, MikeSU02, longislandcuse, Cusefan0307, Orangepace and one more draft 5 teams. I would be moderator if necessary. You are the NBA people.
I like it.. Let's get this setup. I would crush these clowns..

That would be fun, no idea how we'd decide who drafted the second best team (#larrybird) but I'm in

Take LeBron off that team, they don't have Love, JR, Iman, possibly Mozgov. Love was never going to Cleveland without LeBron going home. Take LeBron off the team, you have Dion and Kyrie dueling in the locker room. And you have a team that maybe would win 35 games.

Without LeBron this season, the Cavs are 2-9. With him, they're 46-18. And I don't think it's just a coincidence that Irving and Thompson are playing at a higher level than they played their first few seasons, I don't think it's a coincidence that JR has fit right in and become a better component of that team than the player he replaced (Dion, who proclaimed start of the year he and Kyrie were the best backcourt in the league; take that Curry and Thompson). I don't think it's a coincidence that journeyman Mozgov suddenly has become a stud.

Curry's playing great, but let's not forget his backcourt mate, Klay Thompson, an excellent offensive player and even better defender. And Green is a stonecold stud, his coach, Kerr, calls Green the team MVP.

Curry's great for Sports Center highlights, has the sizzle (my schnizzle) factor, is a star, maybe the best pg in the league this season (I'm not sold on that), but 'tis a bit premature to proclaim him the new king of the hill.

Yeah I was going to make the point that Lebron is going to make role players look a lot better. Remember Mo Williams, all star?
