It's not like he caught a home run ball worth $5K and chose to give it back. In which case it's not really like you are out the money, cause you never had it to begin with. This was an investment.

The guy does this for a living - I actually think its a nice gesture that hes not trying to make a profit and is willing to break even.

You are right this is a very nice gesture. I watch storage wars , auction hunters, etc, and most of them would not do what he is offering to do. Frankly though duany's stuff is not worth 5 k. This could be a reason why he is trying to break even.

I don't know about these storage shows.
But most of the "reality" shows - Pawn Stars, for example - are largely staged.

Wonder if Duany's locker contained the actual basketball used at the end of the 2003 NC game.
