Ot: The NFL is fixed

What the Packers did today is the equivalent of my worst nightmare as an SU basketball fan in the NCAA tourney this year: Dominate the entire season and then lay a massive egg come tourney time.

Hopefully our hoops team watched this game and can learn from the pros' mistakes. Looks like the Packers were too busy making State Farm commercials.

NFL is fixed? Give me a ****** break.

I'm sure if I threw some white and black stripes on you, you'd do a better job out there :blah:
Like Dasher said previously, why have replay if you still can't get the call right?
Just glad Giants fans don't have to play the what if game. They win it on the field in convincing fashion despite some obstacles. Toughest schedule this year, injuries, needing to win out, road game vs the number one seed. Very proud of Big Blue!

I think it was the classic example of whatever is ruled, that is going to remain the call. If it was ruled a fumble it would have stayed a fumble.

That being said, no replay this year will ever be worse than what we all got to watch 100 times at the Syracuse Toledo game this football season.

This was the same ref who called the Pit-Seattle SB - I don't think it would've been possible to do worse.
That he still has a job is mind boggling.

They made up for the bad call by forcing the Pack to try a pseudo onside kick so as to give the Giants ideal field postition. The Pack looked like a team that didn't have a clue how to play the game. Therein lies my concern for Cuse basketball as well. The Pack, a team that went 15 -1 and at one point in the season were the 2nd coming of the greatest team on earth, start to lose their shine as the season closes and then get unceremoniously eliminated from the playoffs leaving their fans with a nauseated feeling of disbelief and emptiness. It's all fun and games until your team lays an unexpected egg and is suddenly gone. I'm hoping the Cuse stays focused and brings home another NC. This team can do it and in fact is expected to at this point.

Definitely see the parallel. The NFL is even harder to "lay an egg." Green Bay would only need to win 3 games, 2 of them home games, to win the Super Bowl. SU will have to win 6 games, all on neutral sites. That's what make 2003 so special and if we are lucky enough to see it again, should be cherished.

Yea, but GB won it all last season. I'm sure their fans don't expect that they will win it all every season. How many times have there been repeat SB winners in consecutive seasons? not many...

If SU gets unceremoniously dumped in the sweet 16 this year...it will just be the "same ole same ole" feeling for SU fans. I've just come to expect that they wont get past the round of 16, no matter how great their regular season was. Luckily, we can just blame the officials or the NCAA for a bad matchup, rather than looking inward.

It's fixed ...

You're right. The NFL had Nassib impersonating Rodgers (several missed easy throws) along with GB's receivers impersonating ours (all them unexplainable drops). :noidea:
