I know this is off topic for this board but figured I would ask anyway. I came up for the Clemson game but didnt stay long enough to be a "tourist". I will be back next week for business and will have a bit of downtime in the afternoons since I am in town for a few days. Just wondering if there are any recommended things I should see while in town or any restaurants you guys highly recommend. Thanks in advance.

The Syracuse Chiefs play Rochester today, tomorrow and Thursday. All games are at 1:30 PM.
There is actually a doubleheader today. Should be plenty of good seats and the price is right too...

see the sights on south salina st -

Clinton Square, Clark's and the Landmark Theatre are all on South Salina Street, so I suppose there are some sights worth seeing there

$2 beers (and ginger ale) and $1 dogs on Thursday.

Highly self serving post but I'd like to recommend "the tailor and the cook" in Utica, NY. Top 100 restaurant in the US by opentable. Plus it's owned by a huge cuse fan and LOOONNGGG time lurker.

Plus the Nail Creek Pub in Utica right next to Saranac (Matt's) Brewery is a nice cozy spot for a great sandwich and a few brews! The tour of the brewery is really a nice experience also.

If i see another poster blast Syracuse and CNY for not being a good place to visit im going to lose my mind. There is as much to do here as there is in any big city in the country. Ive lived in NYC and Boston and can attest to this. The Finger Lakes are one of the top 5 most beautiful places ive seen in the Country, We have TONS of breweries in CNY for those that like microbrews and tours etc. Plenty of shops and things of that nature. We have more festivals per capita than any city in the Country.

This is on my list of places to eat. My wife and I have been dying to visit. Probably in June

Also: Alto Cinco, Empire Brewing Company, Phoebe's, J. Ryan's Pub along with others mentioned previously.

The Inn Between. If you want a true fine dining experience. Chris Cesta is one of the top chefs in the northeast and a great guy. Love the way that place is run. Oyster Rockefeller is the best I've ever had and highly addictive.
