OT: This Can't Be True About Penn St

As a result, the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights announced last week it is launching an independent civil rights enforcement investigation of Penn State to determine whether the university "has responded immediately and appropriately" to complaints of sexual offenses.

That horse is already out of the barn.

Nothing will happen although it should. The NCAA should be investigated too for being complicit in allowing the culture to continue with their weak ass response to the University cover up of Sandusky.

Unfortunately, the question is who would do the investigation? It would need to be a government agency at this point... who is the watch guard of the NCAA?

Besides, ultimately PENN STATE is responsible for PENN STATE. Nobody else... they shouldn't need a sports governing body to keep an eye on them to make sure they're behaving and doing the right thing.

You are right - they shouldn't need someone to keep an eye on them. But, apparently they do.

When I searched for that story I found another one from the past week where a Penn State student was arrested for making a bomb in his dorm room.

If I were a parent this would be too many questions for me about this institution ...

I agree, especially the parent of a daughter. These stories couldn't come at a worse time for PSU, as most HS seniors are now weighing their college decisions.

Did anyone notice that allegedly many of the reported assaults occurred as far back as 1971? So we have a 40+ year history of s e xual assault AND cover up! What's worse is that most s e xual assaults go unreported. My daughters will never attend PSU if I can stop them ( as Orange fans, they would never choose PSU anyway).

Glad to know that PSU is consistent in policies, s e x dually assault someone and they will cover it up, not just for the AD. (Sarcasm off)
