Most career wins by an individual player in their first 1000 games in the league.

Tony Parker: 718
Scottie Pippen: 715
Tim Duncan: 707

I know he isn't as flashy as other PGs in the league, but all other things being equal, I take him if I have to win a playoff series.

If I get Duncan and Pop too.

He's been real good, but he's not in the class of Steph/Westbrook/Paul

He's had a really poor year for himself, but he seems to be getting his groove back at the right time. I think like a month ago, he was rated as the worst starting guard in the NBA by most advanced metrics lol.

But he's had a fantastic career and has been very underrated for almost the entire career.

Don't let recency influence you. Parker has been phenomenal prior to this year. A difference maker who is clearly on par with those players. This year, not so much [injury related?].

He's never been a strong 3 pt shooter like Curry or as explosive as Westbrook, or as strong a passer as Paul (who is?), but Ive been saying for a few years now, Tony Parker will go down as one of the most underrated players in NBA history. And before people come in and say "you can't be underrated and an all-star"-- yes, you absolutely can.

Yes, he's been banged up. Hamstring I want to say for some reason.. but I could be wrong. The guy makes a leaving in the paint, so I can see why this would hinder him. That being said, come playoff time, I'll take my chances with him as my PG 10 times out of 10.

He's been playing through an injury yeah, but maybe it's just me, but I never thought of him in that elite class of PG, I always had him a level behind them. Steph has taken a step forward this year, I'd probably say prior to this year Parker and Steph were pretty close, but Steph I think now is better than Parker ever was. I'm also an unabashed Stpeh Curry fan.

Crazy talk. Parker has been an ELITE PG for most of his career.

I could def be off, he's made 3 second team all NBA and third team once.

I agree with GoHamSU above--I think the reason for that is that they have a balanced team, and people take for granted the consistency and don't pay attention to the Spurs. Plus, other players are more "sexy" in terms of how they play. But at the end of the day, the playoff results / championships speak for themselves.

It's like looking at Tim Duncan and saying, "well, he only averaged 17 points per game..." when comparing his production to other great PFs. Parker absolutely is on the same level as the elites, IMO. He's also getting toward the tail end of his career / approaching decline, with a lot of extra mileage on his tires from all the deep playoff runs. So he isn't quite as effective as he was say 5 years ago.

I'm gonna retract, his numbers were better than I thought. I think Steph this year is at a level Parker can't touch, but other than that, I need to give Parker more credit.

I had the pleasure of taking in a Spurs game during spring break, they were playing the Raptors early last month. I told my 8th grader to watch Parker operate, he always leads the league in points in the paint for a guard, and he did not disappoint. He gets to the rim at will, it doesn't matter who is protecting it. He is just good enough as a jump shooter to keep his man honest, and has an uncanny ability to get through traffic and get his shot off in tight spaces. I can't think of a player I have ever seen better at it than Parker. Even Iverson turned into a jump shooter as his career went on, but Tony just keeps winding his way to the rim later in his career. It is something to behold.

The Spurs players personal stats could be higher but they sacrifice playing time and stats for the biggest stat, CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! They are the ultimate team players.
