Using a computer to come up with RGB values will yield a different "readout" than the human eye since computers don't have lenses that perceive light at different focal lengths. That said, the RGB values wouldn't be "wrong", just inconsistent with the human eye's readout.

Well, if all the computers in the world (properly color calibrated of course) say it's light blue and brown and several people - myself included - see it that way too, that's good enough for me.

;)

lol saw this last night, black and blue for me, my friend saw white and gold. crazy

I see white and gold as well, and I don't care if I'm wrong! Of course, it's less about what the actual colors in the picture are (I think they're technically blues and browns), but more about how each person interprets them, based on whatever color-correction for the effects of daylighting their brain is wired for.

For a straight-up color perception test (no contextual cues), there's this bit of fun: http://www.xrite.com/online-color-test-challenge

I've done it a few times. I always miss 3-4 of them, and always in the orange-pink range. My wife maintains that I don't see color as well as she does so I made her do this test too, and sure enough, I had better color perception according to the test. She still maintains I don't see color as well as her, so that settled absolutely nothing.
