OT: worst stadium I’ve ever visited

I was in Bologna last year, which is pretty anti American being a huge university city, and everyone was really lovely for the most part. I find Europeans who hate Americans to be rather adorable. Like "aww, you think you matter to me? Here's a nickel." But I've really found rude Euros to be few and far between. Even in France.

The French are lovely. It's the Parisians who can be terribly rude.

It's funny. The higher end establishments I've been to in Paris the service is impeccable and genuinely friendly/warm. It's the more regular places where they can be a bit rude. I just act oblivious and even more American. Give them a show of a happy smiling American idiot speaking slower and louder English. At least they'll have a story for their friends or Reddit.

Place is falling apart. No luxury suites. If you’re hungry you have to pray your wife has a granola bar in her purse. One restroom. Rome really needs replace this place. It’s almost as bad as Jacksonville’s stadium.

Seems like lots of Italy travelers. My daughter & boyfriend will be going to a wedding Sicily this fall. After the wedding, we are going to Rome for 4-5 days. We have the option of seeing other sites/cities then meeting them in Rome or seeing Sicily Sat - Teusday, then going to Rome together.
Any thoughts from anyone?
Note: my wife and I did a week in Rome about 3 years ago, so another full week is not an option.

Vatican, Coliseum and Forum tours are musts. You can do them all in one day. I was exhausted after, but definitely doable in one day. The Forum might be my favorite historic site I’ve ever visited. Walking the same streets as Julius Caesar and so many legendary historical figures is mind blowing.

Noi abbiamo un matrimonio in Amalfi alla fine d'Agosto, Da li, andremo a Capri per tre o quattro giorni e poi ad Ischia dove non ci sono mai stato. Da Ischia, andremo in Toscana per visitare Montalcino, Siena, San Gimignano e Lucca. Staremo una notte a Firenze per vedere i nostri amici e poi andremo a Milano per vedere altri amici. Per l'ultima parte del viaggio, saremo ad Amsterdam for 4 o 5 giorni.

Io, l'Italia, la conosco piuttosto bene ed ho visto non tutta, ma molto. Qunidi, se avete domande, mandamile e sono lieto a dare consigli.

Paris, la Vallee de la Loire, Nice, Mont Saint Michel, Normandie - toujours la meme chose. Comme Italie, je n'ai pas visite' toute la France ma beaucoup. Jamais mal traite. Jamais.

L'Italie c'est mon pays prefere' ma la France c'est aussi un pays merveilleux.

I'm a big fan of this approach to traveling in a place like Rome. Hit all the big touristy stuff in the first day or two. Then spend the rest of the time walking and trying to get more of a feel for the culture outside of those attractions. I hit those three immediately and then we spent most of our time chilling out in Trastevere, and walked around without much of an agenda the rest of the time.

Thanks, but we did those on our last trip and will do again with my daughter. Looking for some lesser known sites and scenes for our time before we get to Rome.

This is what the wife and I did. It was a long day but totally worth it. Forum was awesome.

We also went to Naples, Capri, and toured Pompeii.

I think 2-3 days in Rome is plenty if you take the tours in one day and leave the other two for simpler exploring and less touristy things.

Check out Capri if you can. Really beautiful island and worth a day trip as long as you are okay with the boat ride over.
