No real SU news at the moment. Anyone into a time killer thread with me?

I've got

1) Tecmo Super Bowl (NES)
2) NBA Jam TE (SNES)
3) Ken Griffey Jr's Winning Run (SNES)

The NHL games on SNES were great but I couldn't single out one I played more than the others. What does anyone else have as their top 3?

1)nhl 94
2)tecmo super bowl
3)WWF Royal Rumble (im counting that as a sport)

1. Super Tecmo bowl (NES) - Way ahead of its time. First game to have the statistics feature for like 15 different categories. If I had a dollar for every minute I played this game I could personally fund a new fotball practice facility on the hill.

2. SNK Baseball Stars (NES) - Incredible game. My favorite feature was trying to catch a fly ball and intentionally leaping or diving to the right or left until you got there because it got you there faster than just running.

3. Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf - 2 reasons. Miracle Chosuke and Big Jumbo

A close 4th would be NHL 94 for SEGA. Best hockey game ever made and ridiculously addicting.

Great memories in this thread.
1. NHL 94 (Super Ninetendo) - Adam Graves juke goal all day long
2. MLB 2k6 (PS2) - Halladay's palm ball is unstoppable
3. Mario Kart (N64) - Peach is an assassin on the course.

Well...I guess I'll be the first new school person to go. All for PS3
1.) NHL 12
2.) FIFA 12
3.) MLB the Show 11

Just got a PS3 for Christmas but have not gotten any sports games yet. My Gran Turismo addiction has returned full force though.

Fifa Road to The World Cup 98 (N64) was awesome and might have bumped Griffey out of my 3 if I had remembered it. I played Pro Evo Soccer 2010 for Wii for awhile but have since moved on.

FIFA is one of my favorites and worth the money. One of my favorite PS3 series that I've been playing lately are the Uncharted games. I only have the first two but I can't wait to get the third. Definitely some of the best PS3 games.

1. Super Tecmo Bowl (NES)
2. World Series Baseball (Sega) - Not sure how you could put any other newgen games without this one.
3. NBA Live (Sega / PS2)

Uncharted 3 came with the PS3 and looks awesome but I won't get started on it until I'm done or bored with GT5. If I start another, I'll lose track in the first one which my son just doesn't understand. Lol

Skyrim. Is killing a sport?

NFL Gameday 98 (PlayStation)
Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey (N64) -- The "NFL Blitz" of the NHL
Fifa 12 (360)

1. NHL '94 (Genesis) - We used to play this nonstop, 20 minute periods, all-star teams, and we played for the shut-out only. Once the shutout was done - we were done playing that game and started anew.

You could maybe throw down a shutout once every 50-100 games at best. Your best bet was having a "Hot" Roy on the East (we always used the East), and a "Cold" Robitaille/Bure on the West.

More often than not Robitaille or some bastard like that would hit a slap shot and the dream would die. We played so much that we were playing one day and the game literally burned out in the machine (it actually started smoking in the machine). We joked that we played it so much it finally had to surrender.

2. Super Tecmo Bowl (NES)

3. Dusty Diamond's All Star Softball (NES) A little known gem.

So many of the PS3 games are phenomenal...I would still go with those old ones though as favorites.

Tough call. In no particular order...

NBA Live 95
NCAA Football (just about any of them, but I loved 99, so let's go with that)

And one wild card - I'm one of the few who had a Sega Saturn, and they had an AWESOME decathlon game. I don't even remember what it was called, but it was one of the most fun games I've ever played.

1. Madden 07 PS2 -- This game was great because the hit stick would break someones back.
2.Hot Shots Golf PS2 -- Great golf game with great characters, even John Daly gets involved.
3.Super Baseball 2020 SNES -- Awesome game, the crowd had a shield over it so there weren't any foul balls along the 1st and 3rd base sides. The pitches were crazy too.
