I prefer happy Otto. He’s unique in the same way that Big Red is unique at WKU. I don’t think we lean into him enough and he’d look good on an alternate helmet.

Big fan of the Otto that kid drew up and of angry mascot logos in general. He said he just wanted to show it on something physical and not put it on the helmet. A badge on the jersey or as a scoreboard graphic. I’m ready for script along the helmets though.

One of the most under reported SU stories in recent memory was the change, and reverse, of the Otto depiction.

When JW took over as AD we started using the angry Otto as our primary mascot representation. It was on TV and in our marketing. It was never announced, it just was.

Then after a couple years we reverted back to the happy Otto. Again, no announcement, it just was.

If Syracuse had a real sports media it would have been a story. But alas…
