But we haven't run a trick play with AB in the game yet, so why would any defense think that. Theres no history for them to ever think that.

Because a guy doesn't play regular minutes and halfway through the game he comes into the game I would make the assumption the opposing coach knows he's supposedly a playmaker and a former QB. You don't think the fact he was a QB has any impact on him coming into the game for a few plays?

But if the coaches watch film of EVERY SNAP he's ever played in college there has been no trickery. So why would they think that

Because he was a QB in h.s. and even the announcers who have almost no footage of him were pumping him up as a future superstar and saying he was the future QB. Just because we know he's not the future QB doesn't mean that everyone else in the world might not still think he will play that position in the future.
