Go back to 9/1 Forget the order. The question would be.. would you be happy with a 7-5 record? Everyone here would say yes. Oh, and while we lost to the Tigers. We took them to the final play at Clemson. We beat some really good teams, and we lost to some really good teams. We had a really tough schedule and all of our games were quality games, except Wagner. Overall, I think this was a big step up for our program. Winning tonight was huge, and hopefully a bowl game. We all got spoiled with 6-0 but seriously we did pretty good overall.

7 and 5 with a chance for a bowl game and 8 wins. Every single person on this board would have signed up for that outcome hands down.Go back to 9/1 Forget the order. Glad it stayed very good, in fact, really really good win for us. Shows the very high level we were playing at, before the injury bug kept hitting.I thought it was very good then. They lost two gut punch games to us and Penn st. Talented team.
worse than maddening. And it's every year.Agreed. 7-5 is a very good year, not great but very good. Ill Take it and keep building. We have got to get this o line cleaned up. The false starts are maddening
UVALouisville is ranked too - pretty sure every team we played had a winning record besides Wagner and BC.

We played 9 … yes 9 bowl qualified squads … I’m hard pressed to find teams with that many on their schedule.Louisville is ranked too - pretty sure every team we played had a winning record besides Wagner and BC.
They beat a tough Illinois team that took Michigan to the wire … it’s soft but it’s not ACC coastal soft which is why Duke had 8 wins … look at their schedule.I think that says more about how bad that side of the Big Ten was.
They also got absolutely destroyed by a horrible Iowa team.I’m not saying it wasn’t a good win, but they weren’t a top level team this season. They beat a tough Illinois team that took Michigan to the wire … it’s soft but it’s not ACC coastal soft which is why Duke had 8 wins … look at their schedule.
A win is a win … a win over a ranked foe is a ranked win. If we were playing in the ACC Coastal we win at least 9 games. The Illini have one of the best backs in the NCAA and a very good defense. They would win the ACC Coastal in a walk. They also got absolutely destroyed by a horrible Iowa team.I’m not saying it wasn’t a good win, but they weren’t a top level team this season.
My opinion on college football this season is that there were about 7 or 8 top teams and then about 75 teams that anybody could beat anyone on a given day.Syracuse obviously started out well, but you have to admit we were gifted that win by Purdue and the dumb penalties they committed at the end.I just don’t think Purdue is a top team and they fall in the 75 team category.A win is a win … a win over a ranked foe is a ranked win. We don’t have any top teams in the ACC either hence my point. You could also say we gifted Clemson their win … a win is a win. You can slice it however you wish. We played 9 bowl teams … from the 11 FBS on the schedule (Wagner obviously doesn’t factor in) again give me a list of teams that played that many. That includes two conf division winners in Clemson and Purdue. Give me a team with a similar claim. Purdue is not elite and honestly outside of UGA, Mich and a few others who is. Purdue was good enough to win their half of the B1G. How you can’t take away beating them as a significant positive is beyond me.My opinion on college football this season is that there were about 7 or 8 top teams and then about 75 teams that anybody could beat anyone on a given day.Syracuse obviously started out well, but you have to admit we were gifted that win by Purdue and the dumb penalties they committed at the end.I just don’t think Purdue is a top team and they fall in the 75 team category.

Gifted Clemson a win? They out gained us two to one and had 4 turnovers.Gotta take off those Orange glasses and come back to reality. We played decent football the first half of the season, but to think we were some kind of dominant early on just isn’t true.We don’t have any top teams in the ACC either hence my point. We also extended a key drive for them with a PF that allowed them to get back in the game and Cuse still had a chance to win. Yardage doesn’t mean a thing it’s the points that win games.Gifted Clemson a win? They out gained us two to one and had 4 turnovers.Gotta take off those Orange glasses and come back to reality. I never said Purdue wasn’t a good win by the way.
Exactly, Clemson won and we didn’t.We also extended a key drive for them with a PF that allowed them to get back in the game and Cuse still had a chance to win. Yardage doesn’t mean a thing it’s the points that win games.
Really? Mich played 6 … OSU played 7 … ND played 7 … Bama played 7 … UGA played 7 … none of the elite teams played 9. That is anywhere from 2-3 extra games against sub .500 teams. Give Cuse two squads with sub .500 records in lieu of two of their losses and they are a 9 win team. Only 6 times in the last 22 years was their SOS as high or higher than this. Our SRS which is results vs SOS is the third highest we have seen since 2000. Higher than any in Marrones tenure, not looking through orange colored glasses I am working with facts. Can we stop already? This was about the quality of the Purdue win anyway.Exactly, Clemson won and we didn’t.
Really gotta raise your expectations of the Orange.
I’m not pleased at all on how this season went and darn sure expect better.
As many teams that go to bowl games nowadays it would be hard not to play at least 7 or 8 games against bowl eligible teams.
